Federal laws apparently stretch the border 100 miles inland. But the Supreme Court apparently had originally said the border is, ... the border. See Wikipedia.

The point is to respect the Constitutional process, not authority. And you have no right to impose or expect submission on anyone else -- it is they who defend you and that trumps your contrived discomfort of others exercising their rights.

There is plenty of historical instances of civil disobedience to uphold rights -- in the US and Mexico -- and that always trumps your desire to meekly accept the status quo. If you prefer to write your political rep that's your way (though I doubt you care),,, others can define whatever process they see fit...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35051383

Well then keep your challenging of proceedures to yourselves and stop creating threads to incite others to be as deviant as you are.

At least you admit you are wantonly creating civil disobedience.

In the US do you not have to carry ID? if you drive do you not have to have your driving licence with you?

Also I notice there are no civilized americans going to these checkpoints and showing what happens when you do cooperate, why arent there compliarions of these types of video?

Trying to influnce people to rebel gets you and hour point absolutely nowhere and you should think about being more compliant.

If I lived in the US, I would make a counter video just to show being rebellious has no place in a civil society...... You are just showing what a bad sport you are, and that you are mouthy and rude, so why should the government take care of you if you respond so negatively towards it?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35331460

You really dont have a point, do you? Name calling is about all you got: deviant, bad sport, rude, rebellious,,,, I get your point,,, But that behavior is completely unnecessary when being disobedient. Tempers can flare since the "working stiff" enforcer may be ill trained and threaten or intimidate, even though he doesnt have the law behind him or her.

As far as inciting goes, I didnt start this thread, though I do support and encourage individual and collective acts of civil disobedience -- if for the only reason that authorities need to get used to resistance to abusive tactics and chill out when faced with an informed citizenry that isnt compliant.

Now, obviously you are upset with civil disobedience,,, Well you too need to chill out, it isnt about your comfort level or your opinion. It is perfectly legal and noble...

fwiw and as far as I know, only a police officer can ask for a driver's license and that only when you are the driver of a motor vehicle...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35051383

This and your previous one are very good answers to the submissive bootlicker.

If the "authorities" never get resistance they rachet up the police state tactics until eventually they have a free hand.

Then it is to late to resist.

They have to be kept in check. They have to be reminded of ROL as often as possible.

Civil disobedience is a fine tradition and should always be encouraged.
 Quoting: s. d. butler

Yeah great argument, call someone who follows rules and respects authority a bootlicker, whilst condoning civil disobedience and challenging authority when unneccesary as the GUNG HO approach to resolving contentious issues.

It is people like you two that are going to bring about civil war and riots just to attack anything you do not find to your liking...

Well it doesn't work like that in the real world, you are pushing yourselves out of mainstream society and fast becoming a rebellious fringe, no wonder the governement is being forced to buy ammunition, because they mnow idiots like you will want war and not a peaceful outcome.

And that is the problem, the "courts" simply rule differently when it means more $$$ in Government coffers.

These check points are for the control and indoctrination of people. NOBODY knows where they were born, the questions they ask are to gain consent and jurisdiction by your own admission of guilt (by consenting admission your are a US Citizen, which is voluntary servitude).

NO Thank you to your offer of voluntary servitude, am I free to leave?

Also, there is no "argument" either the people are free and the Government is the servant or not.

No in between and yes, FORCE is the only thing that works against the type of people who would enslave and rule over others. I am not speaking of violence, but the man in the video is using FORCE to tell them to leave him alone.

More need to stand up to the ignorance and arrogance of our "public servants".

You are still maintaining your freedom if you answer that you are a US Citizen and can prove it when asked. I dont see that as an infringement of your god given right to be free.

On the one hand you criticise undocumented citizens and how much better it would be for the economy if they left, yet on the other, you cry over the most trivial of issues, designed to identify them and to ensure only US citizens travel the highways and borders, whilst at the same time you fail to focus on the real problems facing Americans today.

Do you not want to ensure your freedoms or woukd you rather undocumented citizens walk freely amongst you? Which is it to be?

They want the public conditioned to consent to voluntary searches/servitude as someone else said.

EXACTLY. They need to to volunteer to their authority. Problem is most people are sheep and willingly comply.

My question is, being Canadian, am I obligated to comply or if I have already cleared the border legally and encounter one of these checkpoints, can I do the same?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35324434

How would Trin know the laws of Canada?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35051383

I assume they meant while traveling within the US. As a Canadian, probably better to answer questions or could have future problems entering the US if they wanted to be spiteful (wouldn't be a concern for US citizens). Sometimes there's a makeshift inspection on the US side just as you're headed to Canadian customs up the road (who will ask questions and inspect you anyway). Not sure what the US guys need to know as you're leaving...they don't ask citizenship or ID, just a quick search. Probably technically illegal since they do 'ask' permission, but is at the border.

Yes, every invasive measure that infringes on rights can be justified under the idea that it is protecting your or the nation's security. That is exactly what they have been doing on a number of fronts and they've had to make general legislation, and have judges subsequently rubber stamp it. The problem you forget to mention is they are not limited to the border in their searches, they can now create highway stops anywhere in the country. They are not limited in stopping cars on highways either, but can create stops anywhere they want. They are not limited to immigration transgressions either, but can intervene and arrest on any presumed or suspected illegal activity. Scared yet?

It already affects any number of people, Americans you so easily dismiss as trivial and unimportant.

When the time comes, I could make the same argument as you but against your pet grievances -- as unimportant, trivial, and not a real problem for me and real Americans.

Obviously your struggle isnt about Constitutional rights it is about you, and only you -- that's about as trivial as it gets...

guys i hate to break it to you when you are on interstate you are on federal property and these guys have jurisdiction

the fed legally owns most of the western usa

you dont have to talk to them or consent to searches but that will not make the process go any faster

dont freak out you can always use the state highway and call the sheriff if you have any problems

am more worried about them using vans in public with backscatter xray units does not sound healthy for people and kids

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1521246

Aside from the fact that you are a mindless cocksucker, I hate to break it to you that the federal "government" does not have any constitutional authority to "own" ANY land, outside that which is necessary to operate the federal government.

So that is yet ANOTHER illegal abuse that the "governmet" has been engaging in, for decades.

Gallons of blood has been spilled due to enslavement of african slaves as the north and south fought for thier ideals, the constitution is not there for you to wave it around in the face of authority just so you think you are doing everyone a favor by showing how to be a rebel to make a point.

However, they will take your balls if you continue to mouth off and sound like a total jerkoff, and if you are all so tough, try saying that shit to a policeman in your local area... Oh your balls just shrank at that prospect?

its not a dhs checkpoint. it is a customs and immigration checkpoint,... perfectly legal and practiced in every country in the world./

These dirtbag rentacops are stationed at North Carolina ferry terminals where drivers awaiting boarding must Comply with the anti 4th Amendment bullying including showing driver license (papers please!) and then allow them to look closely inside vehicles with standard tinted windows like my stock glassed SUV. When I asked what he thought he was up to, recording everyone's information (ID, license plate and god knows what else) he replied that he was "authorized" to do it. These thugs make me sick.

Re: Protect Yourself, know your rights, DHS checkpoint refusals
So its our fault for believing in our freedom and when Government attempts to take it and we tell them no its our fault again for the violence they force on us?

You are a fucking idiot, if you are in Mexico, stay there, freedom is not for you, it is for those brave enough to risk everything to snatch it from the jaws of those who would enslave us further.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35331460

You are still maintaining your freedom if you answer that you are a US Citizen and can prove it when asked. I dont see that as an infringement of your god given right to be free.

On the one hand you criticise undocumented citizens and how much better it would be for the economy if they left, yet on the other, you cry over the most trivial of issues, designed to identify them and to ensure only US citizens travel the highways and borders, whilst at the same time you fail to focus on the real problems facing Americans today.

Do you not want to ensure your freedoms or woukd you rather undocumented citizens walk freely amongst you? Which is it to be?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35051383
