Javan Tiger, the last area where they lived was in the highest mountain of Java. A tiger was killed there in 1984, but by 1993 scientists couldn't find any evidence of tigers still living there.

1996Zanzibar Leopard, one of several subspecies of leopard, the Zanzibar leopard made its home on the Zanzibar archipelago of Tanzania. It's still unclear whether this large cat is technically extinct — there are occasional unconfirmed sightings.
1997Last known
Aldabra banded snail from the Seychelles Islands found. Scientists believe global warming was probably the reason for the snail's demise.

Hainan Ormosia (a species of legume) which was native to China is no longer seen.
2000The last
Pyrenean Ibex dies under a fallen tree. The reasons for its extinction are still being debated. However in 2009 it was cloned back in existence but died 7 minutes later due to defects in the lungs, making it extinct once again.
2003The last individual from the
St. Helena Olive which was grown in cultivation dies off since the last plant in the wild disappears in 1994.
2004Mariana Mallard, living only on three small Pacific islands, including Guam, habitat loss from draining marshes for agriculture and damage to the islands during World War II was the main reason for this duck's extinction.
Black-faced Honeycreeper, non-native species, particularly pigs, cats, and rats, have wreaked havoc on Hawaii's ecosystem over the last few centuries, and most likely contributed to the decline of this unique bird. After an unsuccessful effort to get the last few remaining birds to breed, the last bird died in 2004.
