So that means that this methane was in the environment prior to life on Earth.

Life just cycles methane and carbon in and out of the atmosphere.

Also there is Titan. With 1.4% methane and geologically active you would think run away greenhouse effect as well.

The Eastern Cougar is declared extinct.
