True. The bible contains a lot of info about demons, and there are many other sources of info on these vile things.

However, to understand where these things come from - start in the Bible in Genesis Chapter 6. It's quite explicit about where they came from and what they did to humanity (on top of mingling their 'satanic seed' with the human genome! This later led GOD to destroy his Creation with the Flood of Noah's time, due to the evil these evil creatures and their children had introduced to human beings - including the arts and methods of war, weapon making, and the black/satanic magical ceremonies to conjure demons and to use them for your own purposes, etc. Those things are just a tiny bit of what they brought to humanity in addition to their own satanic DNA.

Remember demons are the left-over spirits of the Nephillim (The Nephilim being the offspring of Fallen Angels who came to earth (in Genesis 6) and interbred with human women.) These human/fallen angel bastard offspring had spirits/souls which were not fully human and not fully angelic. They cannot get into heaven and they are not immediately sent to hell when they die. They are sentenced to roam the earth hating mankind and trying their best to cause the destruction of man's body and drag their souls to hell.

According to scripture: At the time of the Judgement of all Mankind at the end of time, these creatures will be thrown into the "lake of fire" along with their master - Satan.

I've been waking up several times a night after very strange dreams in a sweat. The thing is that I cannot recall the dreams after a couple of minutes of being awake and going back to sleep has not been easy.
