Rant/discussion on knowing your rights
Perhaps my title is a bit misleading, so sorry for that. I’ve been a lurker for a while now and as such this is my first thread.
I’m talking about this thread here Thread: Policeman gets owned by law student, know your rights!
My rant is about the people who say “we” should just do what we are told and not cause “trouble” for the people in charge. The way I see it is that we have the right to not be searched or stopped unless they detain us or have a warrant. Why should we just agree to illegal search just because its easier?? Have you no integrity for your country or your rights? The people or enforcers that stop us are directly trying to do illegal actions and yet you wish to not stand up for your own rights… that makes no sense. Excuse me if this was poorly written.
My discussion part is about the ways we can educate ourselves and others. Before you flame me, let me first say I have tried to study the ways to prevent unlawful search or being stopped, but I go through much disinfo, people who discourage others and laws that have loopholes, some laws that no longer are valid due to x or y, and none of us would ever figure that shit out. So I ask the educated people of the GLP to help gather information to set us free.
Its ironic though that the Patriot Act kinda nullifies all our rights yet some of us act as though we are a free country. I came from Denmark many years ago and I had inherited dislike for the country for unknown reasons from outside influences. But when I came here I came to love the country, its people, its culture, etc. Then over time I started to see how much freedom there truly was… Its sad how many people are so oblivious to the obvious and live their lives as if everything is all right. So I ask of GLP lets have an intelligent discussion that doesn’t end up in bs flags, and trolls.

It is everybody's civil duty to maintain their rights i.e. non compliance.
