The five- page document, which has the tacit support of Senate GOP leaders, represents a remarkable shift for the party. Having railed against Senate Democrats for not passing a budget, Republicans are now proposing that Congress surrender an important piece of its Constitutional “power of the purse” for the last seven months of this fiscal year. read more at link WHAT?!??!?!?!? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35144735 they already blame everything on Obama, thats the entire rightwing platform. "Its Obamas Fault" Leave it to a n****3r to fuck it up. |

Seems like the late 1930s rings a bell. Job 12:7) But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: 8) Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. |

CleverMoniker User ID: 33226516 Canada 02/27/2013 09:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't think you guys are quite getting what this situation is about... Huge cuts are going to have to occur. Republicans want Obama to make cuts, but they have so far Boehner refused to actually outline *what* they actually want cut. This is because to do so is political suicide. If the Republicans actually outlined what they wanted cut, they would later have to take the blame from constituents for making those cuts, and risk damaging their own future politics. Obviously they want to cede this 'power' because what they are ceding is the power to get everyone pissed off at you for cutting their funding, getting them laid off, etc. This way Obama makes the cuts that need to be made, and Republicans can then, farther down the road, take shots at him (and more importantly the Democrats in general) for making those cuts. Moral of the story - Republican Senators primary concern is getting re-elected, and are unwilling to do their job - ie making tough decisions and being accountable for them. |

The dude circumvents them all the time, they are like a useless organ now, like over the hill, old as dirt. And the Surpremes are still on Placidills. Yummy Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35264555 Very true, but to give him total power like that? Yes, the one time they really do have power, they are in a hurry to give it away. Hope their constituents try to talk some sense back into them. They weren't sent to Washington to lose on purpose to Obama. |

WHAT CUTS NEED TO BE MADE? It matters who decides this. We've already seen what Obama wants to cut. His first act, even before the deadline, was to release illegal aliens. Was that a cut that needed to be made? No, the point of the sequester is that the cuts are predefined at least to some extent, and the good thing is that they will include cuts in government. If Obama gets to decide, government will remain bloated, Medicaid will be well protected, and maybe it's Social Security and Medicare that will get hurt more. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24473407 What the hell are they thinking???? STUPID, STUPID Idiots. I know the democraps are worthless, but the republicans are becoming just as worthless. Well at least you're closer to the truth than most. When I heard this I thought this is a way of getting us used to another idea now that goes against everything we could recognize as a relatively free country. One more loosening the bonds by suggestion which you can bet will be whipped out later because they know they're next up in 2016 and up for that stage of the overall agenda. Of course they expect it to fail. DCers do it all the time and why it's wise to have a long memory. By the time we get there we'll have a pretty accurate idea where it's all going. |

He'll take those cuts out of the safety of the nation, and give it squarely to those that he can buy votes for Democrats from. |

This is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! Period! End of story! What they're considering is wrong!! There is NO way that the House will ever give Obama total dictorial powers. He is using executive orders to circumvent any other checks and balances. Wake up he already is a dictator. NDAA-no right to a trial and you can be indefinitely jailed. first amendment- ever heard of the no free speech zones the government can declare. The assaults on the second amendment have been widely discussed here. should i continue? Yes. |

We have been on the same road for decades and it sure as hell doesn't matter what letter happens to be after their name. Everyone quit telling yourself how "stupid" so and so is, and realize they have unlimited money "yours", and resources "yours", to get a job done. Just because they don't tell you straight out what that job is, or if the outcome is in your best interest is beside the point. They "the government" are doing that job and it is no mistake, nor is it by accident. |
