The sheep are being set up. Every Dem and Repug are being fed propaganda that cuts will affect their favorite sacred cows. The net effect is that YOU will allow Congress and the Prez to raise taxes rather than see cuts...

LOL, this is a 2% cut on the increase in spending from last year, get it--a reduction on the increase, still spending more than last year just a little less more!

Re: THE SEQUESTER THREAD!!! NO DEAL!!! US Navy Announces Brutal And 'Deeply Regrettable' Cuts!!!
President Barack Obama summoned congressional leaders to a meeting at the White House on March 1, the day $85 billion in spending cuts begin, as both parties say a deal to avert them probably won’t come before the deadline.

Republicans John Boehner, the House speaker, and Mitch McConnell, the Senate minority leader, and Democrats Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, and Nancy Pelosi, the House minority leader, will attend the meeting.
The timing signals that Obama probably won’t spend much effort seeking to prevent the cuts before they begin. Instead, Democrats say they expect the public to blame Republicans.

The parties are far apart on how to replace the cuts totaling $1.2 trillion over nine years, with $85 billion in the remaining seven months of this fiscal year. Democrats insist tax increases must be part of a replacement plan, an approach Republican leaders oppose.

“One thing Americans simply will not accept is another tax increase to replace spending reductions we already agreed to,” McConnell said in an e-mailed statement. He said the meeting “is an opportunity for us to visit with the president about how we can all keep our commitment to reduce Washington spending.”

Closed Caucus

Boehner told fellow House Republicans during a closed caucus that he considers the meeting a “listening session” and doesn’t intend to negotiate, said Representative Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia. Leaders didn’t discuss any new strategy to avoid the spending cuts or a possibility of taking up the Senate measure, Westmoreland said.

The "chaos" is planned and the alleged "cuts" are laughable. What they are "cutting" is still an increase over the previous year and ammounts to skipping the extra cheese on one out of ten pizzas. What they are acting like is not getting to eat at all.

Great point. If more people took an honest interest in politics, and spent less time throwing around tired and used insults at whichever political party they don't affiliate with, we'd had a richer base of people that could solve the problems we are facing today and tomorrow.

Its easy to throw pie at the man on stage, sitting in a cozy seat in the audience. That is what so many people do. Whoever is currently President, they just blame him for EVERYTHING, when they themselves have no real solutions to jack shit.

No matter what they do, we're all screwed anyway. When the collapse comes it's everyone for himself. WWIII will be the next Civil War. They continue to kick the can down the road making things worse in the long run. This upcoming collapse will be a thousand times worse than the Great Depression.

Whew ... so glad I am not worried about educating a child in Texas, Illinois, or Florida.

Concerned about the next disease or natural disaster don't move to New York.

Don't look for civilain DOD jobs in Maryland, Virginia, or Cali.

Cali got a GLP bonus; no need for future childhood vaccinations...LOL.

I hope you don't need child care assistance in PA so you can actually work a job.

Don't look for job assistance or substance abuse help in Ohio.

Don't bother calling the police in Illinois or any other public safety matter for that matter...ha.

And lastly I guess they decided Senior Citizens don't need to eat in Michighan.

Wow! Wonder who picked those cuts...Gotta love it!

Well first off, there are no "Cuts", only reductions in the rate of spending growth...

Second Obama never intended to cut a deal on Sequestration, he always intended to use it as a bludgeon to beat the "Controlled Opposition" Republicans over the head...

Knowing all the while the the propaganda media would never ever in a million years hold them accountable...

Funny Money/Math? Really...

In other words you think that the scheduled gov't furloughs are not going to affect the current economy?

Nor will the economy be affected when the states lose their scheduled funding for various programs?

Beating them over the head has failed to this point so he must be an idiot ... after all.

For the last 75 years or so, economic growth has been facilitated primarily by the availability of cheap, easily harvestable FOSSIL FUELS. Those days are over. Many who are actually smart enough to understand the concept of Peak Oil still believe the effects will be shortages at the pump, and that may very well happen eventually, but long before that occurs, Peak Oil will manifest itself as debt crises. In an economic system where money is created out of thin air and lent out with interest economic growth is absolutely necessary. Growth hasn't completely stopped yet, but it has slowed considerably worldwide, and the countries who do not have access to their own oil, and who cannot print their own dollars to buy oil are the first ones to be affected.

There no cuts. It only means there will be smaller increases on spending. It seems the only outrage is coming from the very small group of people that wont get a pay increase.
