Heard the rumbles (there were 2 in a row) about an hour north of Escondido, CA, too. My friends felt the shaking southwest of me too.

It felt like a big truck rolling by and shaking the house, and then like a smaller truck. The dogs started barking after the first one.

Yeah that was me. No question about it. It was quite similar to when the space shuttle was landing at edwards and causing the sonic booms...

But normally you get two booms in quick secession with something entering the atmosphere. And not sure if i heard two in quick secession.

There are reports of a mystery boom that was heard Wednesday morning from several locations throughout San Diego.

News 8 began receiving reports at about 10 a.m. from people in the South Bay and downtown San Diego. A local naval base also confirmed they heard the noise.

Several people are letting us know through our News 8 Facebook page that they heard or felt the boom from different locations in the East County and North County.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, there was no official cause.

my wife heard it in Arizona City shook the house she thought someone crashed into our garage. No answers, No explanation. strange thing tho our friends 2 streets away heard nothing but another friend about a mile away heard it too. it was not an earthquake but there have been previous reports of underground explosions heard and felt all over Arizona. my theory is they are tunneling for a cross country underground transportation system.

Tucsonans flooded social media sites Wednesday night speculating on what caused a loud boom heard — and felt — over a chunk of the city.

Tweet messages started about 7:45 p.m., many from residents of Tucson's west side, saying a large explosion rattled windows at some homes.

Tucson police received reports of two jets flying over about 7:40 p.m., just seconds before the boom was heard, said spokesman Sgt. Chris Widmer. But it still isn't known it was a sonic boom.
