Empty Shelves in Walmart?

Walmart is a hellishly depressing store, and MAYBE we are turning our backs on a store that seems reluctant to sell ammunition to AMERICANS.... We hold your fate in our hands you corporatist morons... Off to BJs for food, then to Gander Mountain for some ammo, and possibly the Army Navy store for some new work boots, Haaa. Who needs Walmart.?

Got a very nice item from K-Mart today. The store manager even helped me personally with the sale, as there were some issues. I often find exactly what I'm looking for at K-Mart, once I've looked everywhere else.

Our Walmarts have replaced 8 check-out lanes with SELF-checkouts...there goes 7 crappy jobs...one cashier works as assistance with the selfies!

Food stamps come in first week of the month. Dont worry, Walmart will be full next week. Its always slow end of month.

Yeah, depends on time of day. If you go to walmart in the evenings, of course some shelves will be empty. They stock at night. People have no clue how stores work and how supplies get depleted thruout the day.

It all gets restocked by morning.

I was afraid Target was out of my peanut butter but thankfully it is not. Plenty of jars available. $8 a pop but at least we have it.

Yes, in NH, there have been many shelves empty not just at Walmart, but other stores as well. Even more strange is that the dollar store shelves are empty, too- usually, they stock very heavy around here because a lot of folks shop at them.

Funny you made this thread, as yesterday, when I was at Walmart I was stunned to see so many empty spots on shelves empty, as well as entire shelves and even some sections empty.

Its Chinese New Year. They take a full month off. Due to Wal-Mart's tight JIT system, this is probably causing them serious inventory issues.

I just went to walmart today (14 march 2013) and they were completely out of cigarettes. I don't smoke, but was at the cashier near the tobacco section and it was very unusual. They weren't low - they were out of everything but generic. I asked the check out lady what was happening and she said someone forgot to order, but that is incredibly strange. Next I went to Office Max and they're shelves were looking pretty bare. Definitely something strange going on.

I noticed that many stores have lowered their shelves... Target, and Wal-mart namely.

Both my Target and Walmart lost the top shelf completely.
