not meant at you OP. just a general comment on the word they chose. it's a bit telling that they don't speak plain anymore.
Quoting: SmuRidley Oh, ok, no problem. why in the hell the Obama regime picked that word to use was stupid. The word sequester has nothing to do with what is happening. It just sounds evil to the low information voter. Quoting: Desert Fox I know, every time I see the word I think of Ryan Seacrest riding a horse. :gjg: Anyways... Reason words from Judge Napolitano Obama’s False AlarmsIn an effort to remove the hot-potato issue of excessive government spending from the 2012 presidential campaign, and calling the bluff of congressional Republicans who always seem to favor domestic spending cuts but increased military spending, President Obama suggested the concept of "sequester" in late 2011.
His idea was to reduce the rate of increased spending by 2 percent across the board – on domestic and military spending. To his surprise, the Republicans went along with this. They did so either because they lacked the political fortitude and the political will to designate specifically the unconstitutional and pork barrel federal spending projects to be cut, or because they thought that with the debt of the federal government then approaching $15 trillion (it is now $16.6 trillion and growing), any reductions in spending money the government doesn’t have are preferred to no reductions. So, instead of enacting a budget, and instead of recognizing that much of its spending is simply not authorized by the Constitution, Congress enacted the so-called sequester legislation, and the president signed it into law.Read more: [ link to lewrockwell.com] Quoting: KoFFee_ This ^^^ They had so much to choose from... but they choose the worse things to cut. Things that pertain to national security. I'm not saying we do not have an over inflated budget for our military, but why start there? Almost like they are setting it up for a blame game to get their way. Quoting: Dr. Manhattan It is a scare tactic to try and get the Republicans to cave in to more taxes. Trying to get public pressure to get revenue measures passed.
