Also, this is not normal. People do not go to bed and then get buried alive every day. It is newsworthy!

The house has a concrete foundation. How could only one bedroom be selectivly chosen for a sinkhole and the concrete not hold? The camera seems to focus on the room that used to be a garage.

I had an old dry well under my garage almost swallow my car when I pulled in one day. The right front wheel broke through the concrete and the car went down to the frame...I was able to back out and the kids and I looked down the old well...that weekend I got a big load of rock, filled it a few inches from floor level, mixed concrete and we all put our hand prints and wrote our names in the cement :)

You have answered your own question...grasshopper, if the floor was supported by wooden floor joists, the man would have woken up and walked (or ran) from the room yelling "WTF just happened?".
But the floor being a concrete slab just fell with gravity straight down the hole, probably in several pieces as concrete slabs are always full of cracks from age.

You must be pretty obtuse then. This site has been discussing the LA sinkhole and GOM issues for months and years with little old Florida right in the vicinity of those and yet, another sinkhole happens and you don't even think it worthy of a one day pin to discuss?

Also, why don't you care that a story is being reported on a major news station that seems fake? Isn't that important? They evacuated everyone out of the area. They are saying it is 100 ft and the house is not even 100 ft. The friggin newsguy is standing right in front of the house saying there are engineers checking it out--no one in sight. Aerial pictures show no damage and no signs of anyone or any equipment around, but lets just ignore it and not hold anyone accountable? What is wrong with you?

Others are saying 20 by 30 feet. Also, maybe they don't think it is right to show the hole that only just happened hours ago with a possibly dead man buried alive in it. Maybe the news is following protocol not to show the dead.

Florida is crazy with regards to sink holes though, the whole aquifer is just limestone formations that are only a few feet below the surface sometimes, and they can literally just dissolve out from under you...

Usually there are some warnings like cracking sounds so people evacuate in time.

Did you understand my meaning, or do I have to break it down for you? Man fell into hole alive, then while alive buried under sand and dirt, able to yell "help" for a while, then quiet and presumed dead. So, yes, alive, then dead. And of course all this said with an "allegedly" attached because nothing is for sure yet.
