Re: So, You Think Jesus Can't Save You? Not Good Enough For Him?
I'm confused. Jesus? Really? I thought this was a conspiracy forum, but it has the look of a religious discussion spot, with everyone debating hot button topics like how many angels can fit on the head of a pin, or whether a mystical character can "save" people.

Cripes, give me some aliens or Illuminati or something, would you?

PS: It's 2013, not 1013 - we're over Jesus. Aren't we?

“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)

PERIOD.

Lisa, my dear child, you have a whimsical childlike belief in your faith.

Jesus was God in the flesh while He was here, but He is now in heaven sitting on the throne, and He is coming back to judge the world.
 Quoting: Lisa*Lisa

Wow, he is in 'heaven sitting on the throne ... coming back to judge the world.'

Jesus taught us the obvious things -
That the kingdom of heaven is within us (not out there).
That God is with us always (not out there)

“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Jesus also taught us that we are to love God with all our mind, heart, and soul. For this is the greatest commandment. If the kingdom of heaven is within us (where God is), then we must FIRST LOOK WITHIN OURSELVES.

THAT is the simple Truth of the Gospel; from Jesus' mouth.

This belief that god is sitting on a throne in heaven is a childlike belief, and it is astonishing that an adult would ascribe to such a belief.

It directly contradicts what Jesus taught us.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1500023

No it does not. If you consider that this life is mankind trying to live and use both kingdoms, then you can see what is going. We live in sputum. Christ said we cannot serve two masters. Look at your false personage at the forefront of the battle between Heaven and hell. At Caesar Philippi didn't Christ say "Blessed are you Peter because flesh and bones did not reveal this to you that I am the Son of the living God, but my Father in Heaven?" He also said Peter would be the rock upon to build his church. A church of flesh and blood? I think not. It is a church of spirit because only the spirit will enter the Kingdom. He also said the gates of hell would not prevail against the church. Look at this false personage of yours as standing before the gates of hell and the gates of Heaven. Which one will surround you?

satan would have you believe that this place is real. Christ says you must be reborn in water and spirit. He also said that what is here is not his Kingdom. If after the seventh trumpet he declares this his Kingdom then how much truth was here before. The spirit? The spirit of the concept? The seed ready to grow to a fullsize mustard plant?
Quoting: Jesus Christ is the way

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1500023

And that is contrast to what I said? In spirit!!!!!!! Christ said this place AS IT IS NOW IS NOT HIS KINGDOM. There is a reason he went into the earth after death on the cross. The seed of its concept will be made pure, and thus the establishment of his Kingdom on earth after the seventh trumpet. The gates of hell will not prevail against him or his spiritual church as it is trying to do now because those to be gathered in the rapture have not received their name in the book of life and transformation to rebirth in water and spirt. Didn't he say do not worry about what is to come because it is pangs of birth. Birth of what? HHHHIIIISSSS KKKIIINNGGGDDDOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!!

Dude, take a chill pill and calm down.

Jesus was clear in his teachings - the kingdom of God is WITHIN. Whether you want to call it spirit or not, is besides the point.

Jesus taught us to LOOK WITHIN for God.

It's pretty simple.

“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)

PERIOD.

Same here. Looks of self evaluation, and seeing how my behavior affects others. Seeing that I'm responsible for how I treat others, and how I treat myself.

And ultimately, it boils down to self love, and love for others. Only through Love can we be saved.

Exactly what Jesus taught us.

Re: So, You Think Jesus Can't Save You? Not Good Enough For Him?
Great thread, Lisa!

Jesus was speaking to the chief priests and elders of the people when He said the following:

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you."
(Matthew 21:31)

Who are those that represent the chief priests and elders today?

Who would Jesus direct that verse to today?

Salvation is experienced by those who truly repent, and who are those who will truly repent?

"When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the "sinners" and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: "Why does he eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Those, who in their own opinion, believe themselves to be free from disease, in this case, the disease of sin, feel they have no need of the Physician.

Before any doctor can help you, you must admit that you have a problem, go for help, and accept the treatment.

A good doctor will always tell you the truth about your condition.

This is what Jesus, our Great Physician, came to do. To tell us that we are not spiritually well.

We have a fatal disease called sin.

That is the diagnosis, and He is the cure.

Jesus said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means,
'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance".
(Matt. 9:12-13)

One is more likely to become saved if he realizes he needs to be saved.

One is more likely to be healed when he realizes he is sick and needs the the help of the Physician.

Once you embrace a recognition of your sin and become truly sorrowful for it, you will truly repent.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

"This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him;
and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7

Step right up! Get your shiny, good-guy badges here! Here's where the ignorant who believe they are special, chosen, saved can congregate.....trying gleefully to out-do each other on the facts of an outdated and repugnant book. They are, The People of The Book. Their church's should be referred to as literary guilds for the hopelessly inept. They speak in chapter and verse sentences because they have no mind of their own. They have chosen the status quo path, the easy(fed from a spoon) path, the lazy 'I don't wanna do the work' path. They, like Hitler, would condemn all who disagree with them to a concentration camp, just as their Make-Believe 'god' does. The TRUTH does not require a book. No, it does not require a church or a group for it can only be found in ONE place....WITHIN. Yet, they've denied themselves and sought after 'foreign gods'. They are harlots, fools, pretenders to the throne. They will try to ensnare you with their 'warning' of doom. Do not allow the parasites the chance to destroy the wholeness that you are....that you have the potential to be! They have convicted, killed countless millions since their bloody beginning and it is THEY who shall be held accountable for all who have perished because of them. They are the abomination laid desolate! For within, they are empty. They are the blind, led by the blind and together they shall fall into a ditch!

Why would one need Jesus to save them,

if they kept the commandments and followed what Jesus taught?

It seems the only one's who seek to be saved are those who say to themselves, no, I will do it my own way.

Thus the "saved" are merely the damned howling for forgiveness.

Thus says the Holy Spirit.

The trials and tribulations will be great. It is the times as before the flood. There are only two options as the wheat is separated from the chaff. You either accept the Kingdom of the one true God through his Son Jesus Christ or you will fall victim to the kingdom of satan or be beheaded. If all he is consists of lies and losses then guess what he has for you. The mind will be tormented as a disembodied demon that died in the flood attempts to overtake your flesh and cause you to fall down take the mark and worship the halfman/half beast sphinx image.

Please get ready for the coming of the Son of Man.

The truth is.. my anger is with the great "deceiver "thief" and the "master liar".

I am a feisty, passionate personality and sometimes it gets away from me. My love and gratitude for the Lord are sincere however. I absolutely undeniably adore Him and there is not a day that goes by that I am not immensely thankful for all He has done for me.

Kindly forgive me until the next time.. I am fairly sure it will happen again.... Not intentionally.. most people are a work in progress. I am that and then some.

Sorry Lisa.. this is such a beautiful thread. I feel very bad to have brought any ick upon it.

The creator needs no book to save anyone. He only needs someone who is willing to put their EGO aside and follow the narrow path.
The horror of my reality came crashing down around me when I realized that the church was bogus and I was trying to use a get out of jail free card instead of lean I g on the creator to lead me to my own salvation.
You will be judged with the same manner in which you judge others.
The only thing I was saying was that the spirit you were showing with your statement where not the good spirits Jesus said to walk in.

I could be 'saved' from the fairy king, if I believed hard enough. What is this saving....what do you need saving from? According to YOUR OWN BOOK....you need to be saved from 'god's wrath! So, keep on asking 'god' to save you from himself. lol LOONS

Saved = Forgiven
 Quoting: Lisa*Lisa

Forgiveness= the greatest evil ever invented
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29801624

If you don't forgive every wrong done to you,
you will NOT see the Kingdom of Heaven,
because God says He WILL NOT forgive you, if you
will not forgive.

Jesus Christ died for every sin that ever had,
or ever would be committed.
That includes Aolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse Tung
and YOU.

Many people who think they are Christians, are going
to get a big surprise, when they face Jesus.

If Jesus Christ, God incarnate, was willing to step
off the Throne of Heaven, become a man, be tortured,
ripped to shreds and crucified to pay for ALL the sins
of the world, to offer forgiveness through His Blood,
who are we to refuse ANYONE forgiveness?

He told a parable about it.

MATTHEW 18
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Jesus didn't pull any punches.
You do not forgive, you will NOT be forgiven.

Once saved always saved?
That's not what Jesus said.
Salvation if held out to every soul, "whosoever will",
but you can still wind up in hell, for withholding
forgiveness.

Re: So, You Think Jesus Can't Save You? Not Good Enough For Him?
You misunderstand the Gospel.

Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek, rather than react out of anger and vengeance.

Jesus taught us to love one another as we love ourselves (rather than being selfish and looking out for ourselves).

Jesus taught us to give a poor man our belongs if asked.

Jesus taught us that the kingdom of heaven is WITHIN.

Why? It is born out of human compassion, empathy, and understanding. That your plight is MY plight. That as I judge you, so I shall be judged.

Correct, these things (compassion, empathy) are not 'of this world' - they're born INSIDE OF US, from the kingdom within. From the heart of compassion, empathy, and unconditional love. This is the God in us - as we are made in His image.

To get there, we must let go of our EGO (worldly possessions), for it is "easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the gates of heaven."

Those who are lost in EGO cannot find God. EGO is of the MIND, GOD is of the HEART / SPIRIT.

Empathy, compassion, and unconditional love are found in the HEART.

That is the Truth that Jesus spoke.

“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)

PERIOD.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1500023

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matt. 4:4)

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing (Rom. 7:18)

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. (John 18:36)

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (Mark 16:19)

:tomcruise:

I am sure some other cult has similar success stories to those in the OP.

People trade one form of dependency for another. In cases of religious conversion, the drug is replaced with guilt-inducing hypnosis.
 Quoting: Dr. Ben Schillen

From my research, I did discover something unique to only Christians.

For example, there's been many current accounts of people, who stated they had a real encounter with Jesus (these aren't NDEs or OBEs). Many of these encounters, were non-Christians. After the encounter, the person converted to Christianity.

There's two additional factors, about these encounters, that help show these weren't hallucinations.

1) There's been cases, where the person learns of information from Jesus, that was previously unknown to them, but then later researched and proven to be true.

2) The person may have experienced a miraculous healing, right after the encounter with Jesus.

I didn't find this with other religions. For example, cases of people coming across Buddha, Muhammad, Krishna, etc., while fully awake.

You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Your behavior and anger reveal your heart. Asking forgiveness is a good step. You have yet to find the kingdom, for if you have found the kingdom, you would not treat others the way you just confessed to treating them.

All this speak of hellfire and damnation and inciting fear in others.

it is only through love and compassion and empathy that we can witness to others, not through fear. Those who live in fear and anger are already in 'hell'.

You do not know God.

I don't need some fake story tale character to save me. I can save myself from what ever situation I get myself into. If only the people in these videos knew that Jesus can't save anyone because he's completely fictitious, they would be even more proud. Stop giving credit to something that doesn't even exist, for all the hard work and will power you have.

The fleshly/carnal side of me would like to be a fly on the wall when you take your last breath and "watch" you save yourself when the demons come to escort your soul to hell.

The spiritual side of me.. weeps for your lack of wisdom/knowledge.

Of course He is not real to you. Unless you have to faith to believe you NEVER know Him... which is ultimately the saddest state a human being could ever find themselves in.

Most people of faith have had encounters with God that would defy anything an unbeliever spew out.

People that think like you are literally so lost.

May you come to your senses before it's too late.

There is nothing to forgive. We all say/do things we wish we had not.
The important thing is that we ponder things and always stay open to correction, no matter what thing/person/word it comes through.
I believe that all things work to our betterment.
The Only real difference is I believe that the creator created us and resides at our core, and you believe we are sinful and worthless, needing Jesus to cover us.
Even Jesus said the kingdom is inside us.
I believe we will both eventually end up "with" god, you believe I can not.

Aren't we?

Not going to happen. It's a Christians duty to infiltrate and dominate every sect of every human. Respect does not matter, not as long as they inceesantly preach their dogma, they are justified in what they do. Your place in this place does not matter, only they matter.

Damn thing is, they are so fucking blind as to what they are doing, the domination and lack of respect, that they can not realize that THIS is why people are so damn sick of their preaching. Thier "Christian persecution" is brought on by themselves, agaisnt themselves. Self fulfilling prophecy: I will not stop preaching where I am not wanted, non-believers perecute me for it - see, the prophecy I preached to you about is fulfilled that non-believers will shun the religious believer.

Who is to say that it isn't mans need for punishment/judgment that makes it a reality?
Adam and eve hid from god, he did not push them away.
Jesus said to love and forgive. He also said judge not or be judged, with the same measure in which you have passed judgment.
Maybe he was trying to save us from ourselves, not some devil/anti-christ figure.
Remember in the OT when the people just had to have a king, so they demanded god give them one. So he taught them a lesson.
