If people stopped relying on a fictitious character to do something for them, a lot more people would be better off.

Even if there is a God, Jesus, Buddha, etc......a benevolent God would encourage us to do things for ourselves.

A mean God would want us to be lazy and rely on a leader figure.

You may get a lot of hate and negativity. But if it helps only person it's all worth it. Or even if it plants a seed in them, that then later leads them to Christ, again, it's all worth it, especially when we consider what's at stake, their eternal destination.

If it doesn't help a single person, it's still all worth it, since you're being obedient to God, which is even more important, by helping to fulfill the Great Commission.

Yep, I have full confidence that it will help atleast one person out there today. Even if that one person doesn't know it yet.

I'm pretty sure there's a Bible verse that says God CHOOSES who to save. Which means no matter how much we pray, if he doesn't choose us, too bad. That explains when I went through my praying phase, and didn't feel a thing

He will choose a person based on their true heart condition. Someone that is serious doesn't stop praying when they "don't feel a thing."
