Is anyone else facing a "MID LIFE CRISIS"?
It started at the beginning of 2010. I opened my email to find out my house had been raided by TPTB, for no good reason.

Then I got charged later for an alleged white colar crime, which I still don't know the outcome of. All though all evidence points to no wrong doing. It's just based on marketing practices of all things.

Needless to say I sold my house that same year. Then I sold off pretty much everything I owned, including what little businesses I had left.

After that I took a break for a long time. But I realize that I've changed a lot since then. Like I use to think of myself as a business person. I don't see myself that way anymore. I feel like I've lost my edge. Like I don't know if I could make money again even if I tried.

Also I'm not in shape anymore like I use to be. I can't even jog really without my knees hurting.

I'm 38 now, I'm staying at a friends place. My friends rarely ever call me, usually I'm the one calling them. I have no business no money, the IRS is basically trying to force me into bankruptcy, which I'll likely have to do since there's no other options.

the only other option I was thinking was if I could start another business. But I just don't know what to do anymore. I just feel lost sometimes. Like I have no reason to get out of bed hardly.

Wondering if anyone else has gone through some challenges and how you overcame them? Or a mid life crisis? I just don't know what's left in life for me anymore. I'm not overly depressed or anything but I just can't seem to get anything going anymore career wise. 1dunno1

It is understandable how you feel. You have to find some way of getting your drive back.
I would love to know what it was you did before and perhaps I could offer some specific advice. However, just off the top of my head, I will say 2 things:

Bankruptcy is not a life-killing thing. There is recovery after that and many people who have gone on to become great business people went thru it. So that is not something to get all bent out of shape over.

Secondly, I think you need to do some type of volunteering or be around people who have good ideas and are fired up. Perhaps there is a small business incubator near you or some type of community college entrepreneur program.

You may even have to travel a bit and get out of your immediate environment to shake the cobwebs off and get your mind clicking again. You don't necessarily have to go too far as even a long drive or small weekend trip can help you clear your head.

I hope this helps....

Re: Is anyone else facing a "MID LIFE CRISIS"?
I feel your pain. My problems began about the same age as you are. Went bankrupt, lost everything. That process took 5 years. Then had a whopper mid life crisis. Almost finished off my personal life. It's all about your attitude. I finally figured out I was looking for personal peace in all the wrong places. decided to straighten out my spiritual life, face off my own shortcomings, and treat all those small choices we make every day like they are important, life changing events. If the small choices become quality decisions, the biggies then have a solid footing to produce a quality life. Life is a very short gift. I hope you don't waste as much time as I did figuring that out. Live well, my friend and always be ready to help someone else who is struggling . By the way, I turn 60 this year, great family, good business, enjoying church, and loving life. There is hope!
