Hey, how's this. Me and my partner are going through a mortgage broker for a home loan. My credit history is shit, but partner's is good. I said to the partner, "Hmm, maybe you should just apply in your own name", which he disagreed with.
Anyway, that day I said a prayer out loud: "Dear God, please just wipe my credit history and let nothing show up".
So next day mortgage broker gets back to us. Partner's credit check has comne back fine. They're "PERPLEXED" about me cause I am not showing up at all (suspicious for someoone in their 40s apparently).
And I should be. Oh man, should I ever be. But now I learn that not having credit history is just as detrimental as a bad credit history.
Which just goes to show: be careful how you ask for things. If you're too literal (as in don't show me at all on credit history), the "universe" doesn't know how to distinguish.
