Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1330824 This is only possible under Obamas last Sec order. They always sneak stuff in. This was put together YEARS ago, before Obama was voted into office. It's actually a wonder it was held off this long. |

My kid downloaded a show of mine for me a few months ago? Will they know old files? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 836751 Your isp knows a lot about you including when you have used tor or vpn and some vpns will give your info over if requested and not only all that but your email is readable. You also have a public profile that most people with few details could find out a lot about you. Like I said stop downloading illegal movies and join netflix or some service cause even vpn you have to pay for so grow up and stop being jerks. Glp has to eat to you know, so if you don't need to be freeloader help out. |

If I get a piracy warning I swear to god I will hire a lawyer to make them prove I did something amiss. I have the logs to prove my innocence, and theirs had better match mine. |

My favorite is HideMyAss, which works out to about $6.55 a month and offers the highest level of security (govt level), works on both my Mac and PC, and even works on my iPad! Check it out, thousands of IPs from many countries, unlimited data, torrent-friendly, tons of awesome features: Quoting: HypnoSlaveDoll [link to hidemyass.com] So what's the difference in security between HMA & other pay services & Tor? Tor is free. |

Not everyone has a public profile, not everyone uses social networking sites like Facebook. 3. Netflix sucks ass. 4. Buying movies does not help GLP. 1. Did not say any isp's decrypt your vpn 2. I'm talking about a general public profile like arrest records and other public information that's very hard to control cause the information is public and to further my point its show that you cant hide behind a skirt and anyone that believes this is seriously insane. Even anonymous hackers have been caught many times hiding behind things they thought was private. 3. This is your opinion and like asshole everyone's got one ace. 4. I didn't say buying movies helps glp but if you help websites like glp with money your voice might make local TV news or big online newspapers. You know glp has done this many times even with the crazy retard posts but in reality it turns out to be a good thing cause more people come here and they find some useful information they didn't know. So the news website gets to poke fun at conspiracy tards but in reality your voice is making air waves. 5. Freeloading can hurt webpages cause not everyone has money to keep everything going and why wouldn't you support something you like? If you can help out then you should because this is human nature to help. If you see a bum on the street would you kick them? I think NOT! |

The genie is out of the bottle. Things will never go back to the way they were. I don't even use an ISP per se, I have a rooted phone with a free WiFi hotspot and I get about 250-500k. (Which a lot may think sucks but I can download everything I want in at most a few hours). Also I have Sprint so free unlimited data, I get like 130 gigs a month plus phone/text for like $80. |

Tor is free. That fact that Tor is free is the key... Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Tor simply cannot touch the speed of a VPN. Tor might be good for checking emails or posting on forums anonymously, but no way you'll be able to stream or download any large files with much throughput. There are also more security issues associated with Tor. Just Google 'Tor Vs. VPN' for a more detailed explanation... | Anonymous Coward User ID: 35461797 03/02/2013 09:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.informationliberation.com] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35381461 Comcast revealed today how it will deal with customers who receive multiple warnings under the newly launched “six-strikes” anti-piracy system. After four alerts the ISP will “hijack” web-browsers of suspected serial pirates with a persistent pop-up notification, making it impossible to browse the Internet. The pop-up will disappear after the customer “resolves the issue” with a Customer Security Assurance professional. In common with other ISPs, Comcast will start out with friendly alerts informing customers that their account has been used to share copyrighted material. After four warnings, repeated offenders will then enter the “mitigation phase” during which their service will be interrupted. Comcast has chosen a browser “hijack,” making it impossible for customers to browse the Internet, but without interrupting VOIP and other essential services. Stop being a thief asshat and you will be fine. |
