Not suprising.. Iraq is currectly controlled by SHIA muslims, the war in syria is sunni vs shia. so now if turkey(SUNNI) is not joining in or one of the gulf states then the sunnis are losing syria.

Sunni-> Turkey,Gulf states,jordan,egypt,pakistan,sudan and Indonesia. Muslim brotherhood is the largest sunni orginaztion and it has armed branches like hamas.

so now all the shia countries are involved inside syria so we can expect the sunnis to either go in themselfs or send western countries like the USA to do it for them in exchange for oil bribes.

As for russia, exept sending weapons they cant do anything. The russian army is zero compared to the USA army, its not 1970's anymore russia lost the cold war and its power with it.

It doesn't matter how strong they are in a conventional war, because they have nukes that can't be prevented from reaching U.S mainland. It's a wargame and I don't think either U.S or Russia will send soldiers to Syria at all. It just one big proxy war and it might soon start to be official

The US, Israel, Syria and Lebanon go back quite some time. The wedge between Syria and Lebanon was put there by the US and Israel some 8 years ago. Since the deception was not proven until some years later the desired effect had already achieved it's goal. The means of getting there would constitute as being a war crime.

The Syrian authorities must be held accountable for the death of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri, the US secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, said today.

Ms Rice said she was deeply troubled by a UN report implicating Syria in the assassination of Mr Hariri in a huge car bomb in Beirut on February 14.

Ms Rice was speaking after the release of an interim report by UN investigator Detlev Mehlis that established a clear link between Syrian officials and their Lebanese allies in Hariri's murder.

She declined to discuss the probable next steps beyond saying that some kind of international mechanism must be established to ensure that Syria is held accountable. "Even an initial reading of the report is deeply troubling," Ms Rice said.

"You have clearly a case in which there is an implication that Syrian officials were involved in the assassination of Rafik Hariri. You also have a clear indication that the Syrian government has not been cooperating. Accountability is going to be very important for the international community."

Another controversy Sayyed involved in was about financial, but again about Rafik Hariri. In his testimony after his arrest in 2005, he stated that Hariri gave him $10 Million check and another check with the same amount Ghazi Kanaan, and that they made money from Hariri, so they had no reason to kill him.[21]
