Mom Sequester Nightmare - we're starting to feel the doom now !

Due to state budget cuts, my son’s early education program shut its doors for good last year. The program was designed specifically for low-income families who could not otherwise afford child care or early education services. For months I spoke with other low-income parents like myself; they were worried about their jobs as well as the future of their child’s care and education. As federal budgets are slashed, programs like my son’s could essentially disappear.

How are we supposed to survive as a nation if every time somebody tries to cut a few billion out of the spending increases people have to start bitching about not getting free shit any more?

Let's see what happens, how they react. They are all aware it is going to happen - either now or in near future.

Are these children really teachable? Or are these classes just for babysitting them. What will they be able to do later in life? Maybe these parents ought to think of home educating their children who they chose to have.

A very large part of this nightmare is that the 'government' and their controllers knowingly poison us and our children & environment in SO many ways - that disabilities become inevitable.

They always cut where it hurts most and the quickest so the people will cave in and give them what they want. None of the money going to stupid research projects is cut. None of the politicians and their salaries are cut. Just stuff to the poor, elderly and disabled. SOP, OP.

The "CQ" is nothing more than a reduction of the INCREASE in the budget. In other words, the federal debt will continue to increase until the economy explodes do to runaway inflation.

So stop worrying.

Actually worry about the coming inflation that will take far more from you than a special education class.

ok, I feel for the OP, as easy as it is to argue in favour of cuts there are always hardworking non-lazy poor that get hit.
There needs to be a way to hit the lazy fuckers and the rich robber barons in the pocket and have ordinary hard working people supported not taking one up the khyber pass.

I bet big oil and the other back door subsidized industries don't see any cuts in federal money. I bet they still dodge billions in taxes, too.

Meanwhile, the airforce and navy are spending millions on uber-expensive environmentally friendly fuel.

And the Obama's are burning through jet fuel faster than any first family in history as they frolick across the globe on my dime.

Now we're sending the FSA a cool 60 million.

And of course DHS will still get their requisite 1.5 billion rounds per year, a new division worth of armor, another few dozen choppers, and 50 drones.

85 billion just got sent to somebody somewhere to prop up a dead dog stockmarket.

Oh yea, this year we get DDT herbicide added to roundup. Yummy!

My Son is almost 3. He is VERY hard of hearing. Through an Early steps program, he now has a set of hearing aids and is FINALLY starting to speak. Although I am conservative in Nearly all regards, I am thankful for the program that my community has, that let me communicate with my son, Finally. We are learning ASL because he won't be hearing his whole life, but, this time is great. He is otherwise Very intelligent, He is just Deaf. I assure you, that many of these kids are VERY teachable. You are a fools. It takes a village to raise a child.

There's too many people in the world as it is. People who can't provide for the needs of children shouldn't have children. That way I don't get stuck buying diapers for my kid and yours, too.

So who's kids will you sacrifice first? You are speaking a dangerous message. Clearly you think you and your child are better than others.

We'd have money left over for that once we cut all the waste and abuse out of the government and its zillions of dumbshit programs.

It is more humane to let humanity breed themselves to hunger and disease than it is to control population and prevent hunger and disease.

While I'm diverging a bit from the point of the original post, let me ask you this. Should a single mother on welfare with no education have the right to have 5 children when society is left to pay for everything from the hospital bills, to the formula, to the school breakfasts? We need not even mention the fact that statistically these children are far more likely to end up in prison or be social services bums for life.

Absolutely.

This saddens me greatly. There should be plenty of skilled people and materials available for all children. Much in the way of the cost for the dog in the wound warrior programs, I just do not get it. Why so expensive? Should be available. Cost should be reasonable, not seemingly gouging nor seemingly exploitative.

Perhaps the Dept of Education should lay off a few bureaucrats rather than cut funding to Special Ed...

Cabinet Members & Department Heads have been told to make the "Sequester" as hard as possible on the American People in hopes that they will force tax increases on all Americans...

Climb out of your Ivory Tower for a second. If food is the problem, then maybe we could fix that by not using the majority of our Corn crop for ethanol. If disease is the problem, the resources are there but the money is spent elsewhere.

I'm from the US. This is the doom that for years I have preached...

it is the trap that has been set for the last two generations...my grandmothers, born in 1912 and 1898, lived through great depression with no handouts... my mothers generation saw welfare as a humiliating and humbling thing that you did as a very last resort... it changed during my time... and my adult sons generation has become addicted to the "gimmee" mentality.

think of how many young adults grew up with their hands out... raised by momma's with their hands out while their lazy asses remain on the couch...

NOW the economy has gotten so bad that working mothers and fathers have had to take government aid with the idea of getting off of it... but the trap won't let most of them go...

the system owns you. if you rely on it for your food, housing or services you are at the mercy of a system with no soul. When they yank the cord...the government tit will disappear... JUST IMAGINE: when the ebt cards don't work... when the section 8 money is gone... when the years of unemployment comes to a halt... and the well has run dry these people are completely screwed, pissed and looking to take what is theirs... ugly visual.

These programs are one of the ones that are needed, to help the children with the proper technology and educate the parents. I work as a hard of hearing specialist and many parents that have deaf or hard of hearing children do not know what to do or how to communicate with them. As well as how to accommodate them in classrooms and what their future will be like.
