For some people that would be the case. For others, no. See for example, Luke 18:1-8. We become like that to which we are devoted. - Choose wisely. |

The point of that illustration at Luke 18:1-8 was the need to never give up in prayer Keep ON asking and it will be given you. Jesus said. The difference is heartfelt prayer versus one taught to someone to recite |

The difference is heartfelt prayer versus one taught to someone to recite Of course, no one had been taught to recite anything in Matt 6. As I recall, Jesus was showing the difference between doing such things for show vs. doing them as part of our responsiveness to God. Jesus gave what is commonly called "The Lord's Prayer" as an example of approach and topics (most of which people are unaware). For me the real "Lord's Prayer" is John 17. No. It's the model prayer and it's an example training a child. Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.Proverbs 22:6 Most Bibles use the words "vain repetitions." King James version says: But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. As in this scripture: 1 Kings 18:26; "They called on Baal from morning until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us!" |

It would depend on your reason for teaching the prayer and the age and understanding of the child. Whether it's studying the differences between faiths, the language of that era, word meanings, or if you're teaching them what you think the Bible means and how we should apply it in our lives. |

How do we respond to that? No thanks, seen it done it heard it all before thank you very much. Now multiply it by the trillions from Adam and Eve and maybe it starts to make a little sense. Sincerity itself demands a sense of honesty and integrity. |
