The French part, Saint-Martin, is no longer considered part of France proper, but is a French territory. Administered by France, but not part of the Republic. Also, the Caribbean nations that are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands but not the country are not "European." Although the people are Dutch citizens, those countries are viewed as overseas territories and not part of the actual EU, unlike the country of the Netherlands which is a member. Just saying... |
