O.P is right and Americans have been focusing that much in Apollo "missions" that they ignore everything about former USSR because they never cared! USSR even had a "plaque" with the Apollo fake thing.

Reflectors are used as argument to say humans put them on the moon. Well, first, an unmanned mission could put them there. More than that, the very beam of a laser REFLECTS ITSELF ON THE MOON because that's the natural state of moon surface for Christ's sake. This was even explained by astronomer Harald Lesch (who is in favor of Apollo!) and declared that on tv (Baviera at BR Alpha). When a measurement is done between the moon and earth it takes hours and the earth is spinning during that time a bit more than 10 degrees. So, to locate the reflector it would be needed the measurement again and again and again every 10 minutes and the so-called Apollo reflector was not "adjusted" to earth! So what does NASA say? Ah, yes, the mirror couldn't work because it was designed to stay close to LEM. There's no powerful enough camera to check the positions to make posible any location. CONVENIENTLY the SOVIET REFLECTORS LUNOKHOD from Luna 17 NEVER WORKED!

As "evidence" they provide photos of photons received from the moon 9dark spots which get back in specific momentum and hence reflected) just on the places where the reflectors were "put". However even Wikipedia recognizes they DON'T PROVE HUMANS VISITED THE MOON because similar retroflectors were set in unmanned missions like Lunokhod 2. Soviets were doing that from 1963 PRIOR to the scientists from MIT or Japanese SELENE with 3D reconstructions based upon Apollo 15 data. Soviets were doing that WITHOUT ANY RETROFLECTORS or astronauts!
