You must not live here. Hunting families are usually not the "sheepish" families. Hunting families, which there are A LOT of in Colorado, aren't really what I would call sheepish. More like survivors. Half our state is forest and mountains. This is a hunting state and if you don't live in a hunting "community" then you live next door or right down the street from someone who hunts.
