I'm afraid of sex. And I get the heebie jeebies when I think of my kids having sex. I would prefer that they remain in a dark cave about all matters sexual until the day they are married at the age of 32 preferably. (Even then that makes me uncomfortable.) Since I am uncomfortable and a narcissist and stupid, all public policy needs to revolve around my personal comfort level. Therefore, I don't care that at the age of 15, when hormones are raging beyond control, and when the media has saturated my child's brain with unrealistic sexual imagery, that my child will be in a position to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE to protect his/her sexual integrity because I have made sure he/she UNDERSTANDS NOTHING and has NO RESOURCES to manage the onslaught of hormones, media and peer pressure. And when my child gets AIDS as a result, I will reject him/her. And when she gets pregnant, I will complain that it's so hard to find an abortion doctor, even thought I HAVE BEEN MILITANTLY ANTI-ABORTION up until that time.

In the early 90's they taught us about sex-ed in the 5th grade of elementary school.

In high school they made us view projector slides of photos of peoples' STD's and genital warts/herpes.

Kindergarten is a bit young to bother with this. When I was in kindergarten I was learning the alphabet, colors of the rainbow, and counting pennies. Oh yeah and I made a pretty decent clay pot! Maybe things are more advanced now?

Maybe it all depends on how they teach it or /what/ they're teaching about sexuality. I think they should save the STD talk and slide shows until later. Although I liked girls in kindergarten. I remember I would put my arm on this one girl's arm when we went to the auditorium to watch a school play, it was very romantic. If they taught us about STDs, I doubt we'd have had those play dates during class.

Over sexing the world starting early with the youth. This is sick they don't need to explain masturbation, oral sex, ect to kids to teach "safe sex" this is only going to make them curious and they will start to experiment very young and that will lead to a lot of problems most likely a sex addiction in the future. I know a lot of people have problems about this issue and get all defense when I bring up this issue but it needs to be said most of us have been brought of in a sick enviroment and we now constantly crave pleasure, entertainment and excitement to no avail and this is helping to break the moral fabric of our society, sex is really meant to be just for reproduction or love and I mean actual love using it for anything else is wasting a lot of energy on nothing but pleasure and it's a lot of energy. This leads to a lot more problems than one might think we are creatures of habit and if you turn sex into a meaningless pleasure romp you will most likely lose your inhibitions, become an unknowing (or knowing) addict and get some nice STDs while your at it or a loner with a porn addiction and you don't want that go check out the studies on porn addiction yourself cause the way our society is they are bringing us all up to be like this, look at Miley, Lindsey and all the other Disney slaves they want everyone to be a Monarch slave sick and addicted to the ways of sin I don't want to be cynical but i think it's to late guys only god (not the one eyed false guy) can save this planet now the people can't do it not when the cards are stacked against. /end rant sorry for the punctuation

Why not teach a kid to intelligently process what's shoved down their throats (no pun) on teevee, the movies, music, videos, advertising, the whole media from before they can even read or write. Even sports are sexual, look at Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition. Ever watch an episode of the Golden Girls? All sex jokes. It started a hell of a long time ago. Look at the Rat Pack. Frank and Dean and the guys with cocktails and cigarettes in their hands referring to women as "broads". Elvis. I think we knew more about sex at that young of an age than the teacher's who *thought* they were "educating" us on something we knew nothing about, back when we were 12.
