ARMY WARNS THAT PEOPLE HAS TO SEE CONSEQUENCES FROM THIS!!! Sargeants Association President says "manif" must have consequences. The president of the National Association of Sergeants, Lima Coelho, joined the demonstration against the government and the troika on Saturday, saying he hoped that the government listen to the voice of the Portuguese. "These things have to have consequences. This can not go lightly, without any consequence, unless the Government listen to what people are saying, "he said. Antonio Lima Coelho participated as a "citizen," the manifestation of Lisbon, promoted by the movement "Fuck the troika" with other military and their families, stressing, however, that "this is not a ride." "I think it's time to give voice to those who own the country. Contrary to what many people like to believe, [even] the prime minister, or the bankers, or the like, are not the bosses of this country, all of us, "criticized, told Lusa. On the grounds of objections to the military, Lima Coelho said that dissatisfaction begins with the Government trying to "give the impression" that "the military has more people and more budget." The movement "Fuck the troika" called for demonstrations in more than 40 cities in Portugal and abroad to seek an end to austerity policies. With the motto "Fuck the troika, the people who are more orders," the demonstration held in dozens of cities in Portugal and some foreign coincides with the presence of the delegation of the troika (European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund) , in Lisbon, to the seventh review of the MoU. ARMY WARNS THAT PEOPLE HAS TO SEE CONSEQUENCES FROM THIS!!! The demonstration this afternoon attracts attention all over the world. The press highlights global membership of "teachers, pensioners, health officials, unions, politicians and feminist groups" convened by the protest movement Fuck the Troika (consisting of 120 activists, writes the Spanish newspaper "ABC") and underline the indignation of the Portuguese. The foreign media give special weight to the recovery of "Grândola brown town" and the motto "The people who are more orders" and explain the role that the song had Zeca Afonso in the Revolution of 1974. "It's a slow ballad, with lyrics motivating," writes the Associated Press (AP). Is meant to be sung at the Palace Square in Lisbon at the end of the course, and 20 other Portuguese cities and six foreign: Barcelona, Madrid, Boston, London, Paris, Athens and Stockholm. The AP notes that the "Grândola" has been sung whenever a minister speaks in public and even the prime minister has been targeted her in Parliament. This agency emphasizes the "creativity" of the Portuguese, whose forms of protest include asking invoices on behalf of Pedro Passos Coelho or their supporters. The American portal "The World" tells the story of Carlos Bahia, Portuguese broadcaster residing in Connecticut (USA), which has seen many community members lusodescendente asking that touch the "Sines" on his station. more [link to expresso.sapo.pt] Last Edited by SPUD on 03/03/2013 02:39 PM |

ARMY WARNS THAT PEOPLE HAS TO SEE CONSEQUENCES FROM THIS!!! ARMY WARNS THAT PEOPLE HAS TO SEE CONSEQUENCES FROM THIS!!! Hundreds of thousands of people are protesting in cities across Portugal against government austerity measures. Huge crowds gathered in the capital Lisbon to demand the government resign. Many carried placards condemning the "Troika" of the IMF, the European Commission and the European Central Bank, which demanded budget cuts in return for a financial bailout. The conservative government has introduced steep tax rises as it tries to reduce a huge budget deficit. Unemployment is at a record 17.6% and the economy is expected to contract by 2% this year - the third straight year of recession. The demonstrations organised on social media also have the backing of Portugal's main trade union federation. 'Austerity kills' They coincide with a visit by inspectors from the EU and the IMF, which demanded austerity measures as a condition for a 78bn-euro (£64bn) bailout in 2011. Protesters carried banners with slogans such as "Austerity Kills" and "Screw the Troika". They also chanted a popular song "Grandola" associated with the 1974 "Carnation Revolution" that brought an end to military rule. They are demanding a complete change of course from the government, but it says further spending cuts are necessary to revive the economy. This year's budget was Portugal's toughest in living memory, imposing tax rises that for many workers amount to a month's wages. But the gloomy economic outlook means it will almost certainly have to find more saving, the BBC's Alison Roberts in Lisbon says. [link to www.bbc.co.uk] |

ARMY WARNS THAT PEOPLE HAS TO SEE CONSEQUENCES FROM THIS!!! The organizers of today are doing "a photographic survey in order to proceed with numbers" Lisbon and the rest of the country, but told the Express that will be about 800 thousand in the capital. "Without doubt this is the biggest demonstration ever in Lisbon and the numbers outweigh the manifestation of September 15," Marco said Marques, of Precarious inflexible group that belongs to the movement "Fuck the Troika." The conclusion comes after 800 000 of the photographic survey, so maybe that explains if, during the demonstration, some members of the organization have spoken to 500 thousand peessoas the streets of Lisbon. The movement has also had advanced before some figures for other cities, with special note to Porto, where he will undergo the largest demonstration ever: 400 thousand people. In Coimbra were 20 thousand people, while in Braga and Setubal in 7000 was on the street. Abroad have been 100 people in London and 100 in Paris and 30 in Barcelona. In the event of September 15 last year, the organization estimated that 500,000 people were in Lisbon, Oporto and 100 000, 20 000 in Coimbra (remember all the numbers here).
