Been a carpenter for 20 years. I have a 10' trailer to keep tools in. I can't image having one large enough to cut 16' foot lumber in and still hold all the tools and crap.

How did the dust get into the house if you were cutting in the garage ? I have been a contractor for 30 years so I know the ropes. Number 1 thing is have a contract and number 2 is temporary protection.

Most cops are Dick heads anyways. Take him to court. Stick to the original contract.

I see what you guys did OP. When you installed the wood flooring around the vents someone got lazy and you cut them (or a portion of them)free hand with a circular saw. Why didn't you isolate the room and cover the cloths in the closet. I can tell, by the pile of sawdust in the closet or elcove you freehanded alot of that installation. The pictures themselves incriminate you. Hard to get something past me as I have seen alot in my 30 years as a GC. Chalk it up to to an expensive lesson in temporary protection. Dont be lazy or in a hurry and cover people's shit up brah !

I'm not a carpenter or flooring contractor, but a close friend of mine is. He swears by his Melco guillotine for cutting laminates and engineered floors. He says it eliminates 80% of his cutting and its quick, quiet, and dust free.

Google it and see if its something that may save you time and headaches down the road

I wouldn't give it up. Please consider complaining to the source of the funding for his paycheck. Here in the states, that will be equivilent to the state highway patrol, meaning that the paychecks are state funding. I'd go straight to the state delegation and complain that one of their cops is making an effort to not pay you for work that has been. Of course, they'll check to see if you're a taxpayer, and if you have not paid taxes, then that is another story.

Well the job was not 100% complete and no final cleanup had been done.

Also the client did not complain about the cutting, until after 3 days of work had been finished.

There made in China as I just looked on one of the drills. When you have guys that work for you that dont give a shit because its not their tools thats why I bought these. I am suprised at how well they are made. The company has a great return policy and its more powerful than a standard bulldog as they have a 6.9 Amp motor this one is 7.3 amp.
Plus you have to consider were my guys work. Sometimes we do projects in a main city and theft happens from the curb to the door of the job (happened more than once - one time they got a $700.00 Bosch masons Chop saw). If they steal one of these I dont cry so much !

Overall a steal of a buy !
