to the sultry voiced black lady at the deli counter...thank you
Was at store to it to get a frozen pizza Friday night beer and I heard this sultry voiced black lady on intercom she said! Alright y'all, it's Fridays at 5, come see our fine new deli meats such as Black Forest ham

Brought a smile to my face because she sounded so happy to have a job.

From what I hear, people in the southern USA still talk like that, they are very friendly and loving towards each other, I believe this is because they hold conservative values.
"I have felt despair many times in my life, but I do not keep a chair for it."
~Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes

Today is a gift, that is why it is called "The Present"

“When an opponent declares, “I will not come over to your side,” I calmly say, “Your child belongs to us already… What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.”
- Adolf Hitler

“If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.”

-Oscar Wilde

Have a nice day, may God bless you :D

I have heard that. However, I have also heard that it gets much better the moment you get out to the burbs like Tucker.

I dont care where I need to go if I run into a person that wants to talk I take the time to talk to them.
You just never know what that person may be feeling or if they are lonely or depressed, etc.Especially the elderly.
I think back on times that I was so low and sad and worried and had a fake smile on my face and someone in a checkout line or a cashier had time to chat a bit.Changed my day.

I try to remember that if someone is working and they seem a bit rude they may have terrible problems at home or cant pay their bills. We just never know what a person may be going through.I dont push people to talk but I dont brush them off if they want to talk to me.The world is to busy.We should care about people more.

No I mean it with everything that happened today idk maybe I'm just an emotional sap but this post moved me so much. It was funny and simple and profound and so beautiful. I could imagine it so clearly and I thought about this deli woman and how happy she must be, and I thought what I beautiful soul you are and such a good person to be able to see that.. And how lucky and blessed I am that you felt moved to post here of all places where this sultry happy lovely woman could radiate her joy from the deli counter all the way to Dallas TX to warm my heart.

See my latest post Little Every Day Miracles..

Thank you so much for this, AG. You are such a good person.

Re: to the sultry voiced black lady at the deli counter...thank you
A friend of mine with a wonderful deep sexy voice, something like 'Venus Flytrap' from the old WKRP tv show, came home one night to a half dozen hangups, no message on his answering machine.

Then, there was the last message... 'Hi... I hope you don't mind; I dialed your phone by accident but then I just wanted to hear your voice over and over again. I hope you don't mind...'

It was the impetus he needed, after a lifetime of being told to try for it, to go into voiceover work.

Thanks... AG, brought a smile to my face on a somber glp night.

There's a butcher at my local supermarket who brings me to tears
laughing every time I hear his announcements about fresh cut meat
specials. Doesn't matter what line of work you are in, as long as, it
satisfies you (and pays the bills, I suppose).

I live in Atlanta, GA. And while I can tell you the hospitality and general friendliness here is WAY better than where I grew up in Ohio. However, it's not always the case, especially in our terrible ass traffic. Only 1 in 5 are native Georgians in Atlanta Metro (or something like that) meaning of the nearly 6 million people here 4.8 million are from somewhere else. I live out in the burbs, like most of "Atlantans" and the traffic is so bad everywhere, like through neighborhoods, surface streets let alone major highway and throughways, that people are extremely selfish and rude.

But, go into most businesses and it's just amazing how gracious the people are, especially the more independent or small chain businesses. The big chains, which I avoid if possible, are pretty much the same. Places like Toy-R-Us or Best Buy or Wal-Mart and it's the same here as anywhere else.

Only 1 problem with your story...

That was a DUDE...

He's saving up for his Obammy subsidized Sex-Change operation.

He likes to practice that sultry voice shit over the intercom.
