MHz User ID: 34243878 Canada 03/03/2013 01:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | British Foreign Secretary William Hague said Sunday in response to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s interview that he was "delusional" for failing to see that the bloodshed in his country was at his own hands. Quoting: ftownballa Hague said that this week Britain will announce more non-lethal assistance to the Syrian opposition and refused to rule out the possibility of arming them in the future. The mission of the rebels calling for more bloodshed from the weapons shipped. So far training is given as a route has yet to be established now that the Benghazi depot is about empty and the expected Lebanon one and Syrian one on the Med are decommissioned due to Russian war ships there and Hezbollah marking the rebels for Syrian troops to come in and clean up to close down that pipeline. The US got $60M to give the talking heads and food and transports to the rebles that would be about the same $$$ and using NATO stuff that was coming off warranty and c-rations that were about outdated and once they unloaded that (and whatever you do with empty trucks) weapons would be in the next shipment from Turkey |

But for what they can do, they are lethal if given the RIGHT mission. A pair of MiG 25 foxbats from Syria can fly at Mach 2. They don't even need to slow down for SAMs, since they can just go full throttle to Mach 2.8, out of the reach of most SaMs. |

A 50 year old Mig-21 or even Mig-25 technology... would have ZERO chance getting anywhere near either Tel Aviv or Dimona. Israel was shotting down Migs and Su's by the dozens during Bekaa Valley Turkey Shoot - for a reason. This is the type that would get through. (in part) The P-700 Granit (Russian: П-700 "Гранит"; English: granite) is a Soviet and Russian naval anti-ship cruise missile. Its GRAU designation is 3M45, its NATO reporting name SS-N-19 Shipwreck. It comes in ASCM and SLCM variants. Built by Chelomei/NPO Mashinostroenia, the bulging 10m missile has swept-back wings and tail, weighs around 7,000 kilograms and can be fitted with either a 750 kg HE warhead, a FAE warhead, or a 500 kt nuclear warhead. A stubby cylindrical solid-fuel rocket is fitted to the rear for launch; this booster stage is released when the missile enters sustained flight using its KR-93 turbojet engine. The P-700 has a distinctive annular air intake in the nose. Maximum speed is believed to be between Mach 1.6 and Mach 2.5. Range is estimated at 550 to 625 km.[1] The guidance system is mixed-mode, with inertial, active terminal guidance with radar and also anti-radar homing. Mid-course correction is probable. Yes Israel is Arming the FSA in Syria ,then the islamists will atack the jews with their own weapons. LOL, this is idiotic by even usual uber-retarded anti-Israeli standards. It proves NOTHING. Especially In fact, if you know anything about weaponry in that part of the world, you would know that there have been If Israel really wanted to fund or help the rebels -- and why would they, ya dummy, lol -- then they would EASILY set something with the usual Qatari, Saudi, Turkish, European, black-market channels with absolutely no traceablity. Much easier, much less politically problematic. LOL, this thread is SPECTACULARLY idiotic, from start to finish -- from Assad's joke of a threat to some Canadian doofus's usual bizzarely retarded excuse that "less training = better performance".... to this gem. Oh look, there are 50 bajillion Kalashnikov's and RPG-7 on the ground on both rebels aside and Assad. Using that "logic", that means Russi and CHina the main manufacturers are responsible for war-cimes from BOTH sides and basically fuel this war with their arms shipments (which unlike Israel's are actually easily provable). Putin to the Hauge, lulz. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 39260238 05/04/2013 05:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | AFTER 23 months of a conflict that has ripped his country apart, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, was in no mood to contemplate giving up the fight and going into exile. Quoting: ftownballa “No patriotic person will think about living outside his country. I am like any other patriotic Syrian,” he said in an interview last week, when I asked if he would leave to improve the prospects for peace. In any case, he said, it was nonsense to suggest that the conflict was about the president and his future. “If this argument is correct, then my departure will stop the fighting. Clearly this is absurd, and recent precedents in Libya, Yemen and Egypt bear witness to this.” Assad spoke softly throughout the hour-long interview, his first with a western newspaper for more than a year, but he had harsh words for his opponents. He vowed that Syria would retaliate against Israel for an airstrike on a research centre in Damascus last month.
