Cousin marriage is legal here, as it is in most parts of the world (including the US). It is not considered incest. Like the US, first you have to take a blood test. If the cousins are found to be compatible the marriage is accepted.

He believes it would be good a match for both children. Both are open to arranged marrages and in fact both are currently looking for a partner through such an arrangement (called omiai in Japanese, it is also fairly common in this culture). The children get along well and like each other in general. He also believes this will help keep our family business together (we are all involved in the same business).

His daughter is several years younger than my son. She is beautiful, smart, humble, polite, and on the surface of it seems like she would be a good catch for any man. My son is talented and intelligent although a bit withdrawn and difficult to socialize with others. He has never had a serious girlfriend. Both of them are in their late 20s.

I don't quite know what to think about this. I guess if they don't object to it, I wouldn't either. Still I think it is a bit strange, even though technically it is accepted in this society it is a kind of "marginal" thing and really not all that normal when you come right down to it.

Just buy the kids some pokemon and forget about the whole arranged marriage thing. They'll thank you for it later in life.

edit: oops, just re-read your post and see that your kids are in their 20's....

lol

what does having bloodwork done tell?you said if theyre a'good match' -what does that mean?

can that rule out all the genetic abnormalities that happen with inbreeding?im obviously not knowledgeable on that sort of thing so can you explain it?

and even though it may be ok in japanese traditional senses-in a global sense, it may not be viewed as good-think about that from their perspective, eg-if they move abroad or travel and have to explain theyre blood related-or the children do.

Just do it, is good, keep it in the family like elites.
Having stronger bonds together as close family relatives.
There are more chance if bond with "outsider" family, you'll only gain "enemies".
Just think about it, society downfall was the social scattered bonds nowadays.

This is stupid.
So you're advocating for inbreeding because of the social bonds, that is just totally unbelievable.
If you aren't capable of finding a mate outside you're family you shouldn't be able to reproduce.

This may be good financially for you and brother in regards to business yet in the long run it will be bad for the genetics of the blood line.

...you do realize this is a conspiracy forum, yes?

Do what you will... if you have the permission and blessings of the prospective partners, and the DNA is compatible, there is no argument that can be brought against it.

It thus is a matter of personal morality.
