Not sure what your issue is then if the same trouble comes on IE/Firefox/Chrome or Opera. Could be affected by virus/malware etc. I would wipe the windows out and use a proper Linux? mac operating system (yes you can also install Mac OS on PC).

Yes. Install a proper unix-like operating system and be done with that malware prone POS Microsoft garbage.

Set IE to the high security setting, and don't use it.

For you, I would recommend FireFox in Sandboxie, Opera for power users.

I don't like FF unless it's been configured. Out of the box it is just so-so on my work station (this is FF for Linux which is a little different than the creature that a microsoft user would download). I don't know how you can think IE is better than ....well, anything.

On my computers I run FF, chrome, chromium (Linux clone), Opera, and Midori. I love midori for a simple browser that just gets used for surfing.

When my CMOS battery died, my pc's date would always default back to midnight, jan 1, 2007.

This caused all kinds of unforeseeable confusions. Loading: youtube, pandora radio, etc... for example.
