When you look at an object in 4d you see the object and everywhere it will ever be.

Imagine seeing a dot in 3d, now in 4d this dot would turn into a tube.

Funny isn't it? Ask this question to someone who says we are going into the 5th dimension and they don't know what to say.

A lot of people just repeat stuff they hear without giving it much thought. Some people say it's like this dimension but without time. Sometimes they will say that time goes in all directions and you can go in whatever direction you want to experience since time is an illusion.


This also doesn't make sense. If I decided to visit my friend tomorrow is he the same person as when I visited him yesterday if there is no such thing as linear time?

The idea of 1d 2d 3d etc is just a tool created to explain this one reality. Other realities probably don't even have these properties?

The point is that 3-d space and time are related - we can't just move anywhere anyhow anytime... So time becomes a dimension we need to consider.

I get too mentally excited just trying to even think about it--let alone if I understood it.

I can't imagine any living being on this plane of existence - in this reality - having the capacity to truly understand or know it while simultaneously being in this realm.

Just doesn't seem possible. Our makeup of thoughts and ideas is in direct parallel to this existence. This would be concepts that are outside the scope of what we absorb. So nothing in our extrapolation could possibly contain something not of this reality.

One dimension is a flat plane with no width or height.
Another dimension is a flat plane with variable width.
Another dimension is a flat plane with variable width and height, ie. volume.
The distance between 2 points on a flat plane is a measurement not a dimension.
The dimension can run for a finite or infinite length, however any two points along this dimension is a distance, not a dimension.
