Now wait. Isn't this a city affair? That's where we have a problem. Landlords have a right to specify use within the property. Then a renter can go elsewhere if they find they can't live with terms of a lease.

Nicotine is a highly addictive drug and smoking was for many years promoted as the cool thing to do.
That is the era I grew up in. Close to 60% of people smoked at least casually back then.
Ads promoted it, movies glamourized it.
We got sucked into a life of misery and addiction.

Smoking makes you a slave to the govt.
You smoke, the govt collects mega taxes, at least up here they do.
A pack of smokes is almost $12.

I am an adult NOW, when I was subjected to the brainwashing that smoking was cool and hip, I was a kid and teenager.

No one made me do it, but all the cool people were, then wham, you are HOOKED. Nicotine is a highly addictive drug.

Even doctors promoted their favourite brand of cigarette in ads.

If you promote a product and say it is good for you and it is not, you can and will expect backlash.

Anyway, writing about smoking and how I was basically tricked from a young age to only see the positives and not the negatives, just gives me more resolve to quit.

If it's in your own home and it's not attached to another house, do what you like. If it's attached? Fully support a ban. For years I was unable to sleep properly in MY OWN HOUSE due to smoke drifting through the walls with my neighbors smoking sessions. A horde of people may as well have been sat in my room smoking in my face all night. Then during the day they'd move to their living room and the smoke would be seeping into ours. Imagine that EVERYDAY EVERY NIGHT. They're lucky I didn't kill them.

The left over amount; after you subtract, is how much money the insurance companies make every year just on houses.

The plant is a plant! It is funny that the worldwide anti smoking campaign goes ONLY against smokers and NOT against the product itself.

Your house wasn't very well designed. If smoke was going through the walls, smoke from a fire would have also. I think that today both landlords and builders are skimping on the costs of making dwellings safe, and the blame is being shifted to smokers.

My mother was a smoker, and her neighbors who were non-smokers never complained. Occasionally the apartment smelled smoky but no smoke ever got through the walls or into the corridor. The corridor pressurization was very strong; you could feel it when you opened the door.

No complaining non-smokers = safe building.

I know that its already a law that you can't smoke within 20 feet of the entrance of a business, and a town already attempted to ban smoking anywhere outside.

In the late 60's the anti-smoking campaign stated they would end smoking in the US by 2000. They did not make that, but they r still trying.

That is a LOCAL civil issue. Not a state issue.

Anyone disrupting the peace health and enjoyment of your home is an environmental enforcement area.
If they're renting you can talk to their landlord and suggest mediation.
