From 100 ft, to 30 ft, to 20 ft. No pics. There is no sinkhole in that video. And if there is some form of hole it is too small to even be seen, let alone swallow a mans entire bedroom and warrant them saying "his body may never be recovered". No shit it won't.. cause it's not and never was there. I just wonder what actually took place here. They aren't even trying to be convincing with these stories anymore.. and that worries me.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34249989

That is correct but take a look at how many people keep falling for this shit. Every. Single. Time. It doesn't matter how fake a story is. Many people believe it because that is what they were told.

It's just people don't naturally question everything they see, and I get called paranoid for doing so. Everyone should question everything they see, always.

Years ago I was with a group that mapped caves, and I can assure you that there doesn't have to be a huge hole in the ground for there to be a massive cavern below...
 Quoting: BRIEF

And if it is was a POST TENSION SLAB...
The cable lattice would still be in place, giving the appearance that a hole wasn't there from a distance.

Older post tension construction did not use as many cables so there'd be plenty of room for an entire bed to slip through.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34765812

Why would they make it up? Florida is known for having sinkholes...
 Quoting: BRIEF

However there does have to be a hole in the ground for someone's bedroom to have fallen into a hole in the ground, so what is your argument here? So your saying the hole swalled the bedroom, left no evidence, and then neatly covered itself in topsoil as to erase any hint of a hole. Right.

Black bear rug? Black table? Shadow?

This is truly a case of "pics or it didn't happen!"

Wonder if we will be shown anything when the rest of the house is removed. "Oh, well, we decided to fill in the hole before finishing demolition...don't want a safety hazard!"

Can anyone find out if the missing person actually existed?

I'm a concrete finisher. Concrete is very strong and can span large distances unsupported. If that sinkhole opened up it most likely would have happened quite a while ago and over time caused the concrete to crack. Keep in mind that there is a foundation as well that supports the concrete. Also the hole looks square. Concrete does not break in a perfect square (unless there was perfect relief joints exactly where this mans bedroom was). Assuming the concrete was a typical 3 1/2 inches thick or possibly 4 inches thick it could support many many thousands of lbs before it finally gives way. This is suspicious to someone that understands concrete.

OK I gotta speak up now!

This hole is BULLSHIT for a few reasons from a builders perspective!

1. 2x12" joists run from one end of a house to the other.
2. The joists are set on either end with concrete borders.

||=======================||
||-----------------------||
||-----------------------||
||-----------------------||
||-----------------------||
||-----------------------||
||-----------------------|| <---2x12" joists every 12"
||=======================|| <---concrete borders

3. Plywood goes on top of the joists screwed into them ever 6" minimum.
4. Carpet or lino or hardwood on to of Plywood.
5. concrete or piles for support in between joists for support all over the F'n place for stability....called "SUPPORT BEAMS or PILES"

So tell me again how one little bedroom gets swallowed by a hole yet the rest is left standing? NO WAY IN HELL without structural collapse of walls. You would have everything around the hole collapsing into it.

This story is so much bullshit it's unbelievable!

Now it looks like a concrete floor. sort of in the video. No carpet? no hardwood? No lino? No covering at all that would have had to collapse in on itself as well. Even then the walls are still standing....I mean they look straight with no slumping....WHY?

It looks like a magic hole to me if that is the hole we are to believe did this. one room effected, which also looks to be no bigger than 15' x 10'.

Sinkholes are caused by limestone erosion and it is not known the dimensions of that erosions. The one with the cell phone could have the same thing happen to them. Also I doubt anybody is allowed that close for fear of them falling in or being swallowed up by it as well.

These sinkholes are only common where there is an under bed of limestone. They happen around where I live but fortunately none have under a house. A road, yes, but so far not under a house.

Concrete used for a floor would have rebar running throughout it. rebar that runs the lengths of the house. one gets attached to the next every 12" or so. They run it in a grid like pattern. The concrete is mixed with rock as well. Depending on the mix.

It's a concrete floor. I hate them but that's what I have as well. No joists. Nothing but damned hard cold concrete with some sort of floor covering like carpet or linoleum right over it. Also hardwood with little firring strips but no joists. Often used in Florida-more than any other kind.

Also what would be the use of a hoax on this?

Surely the government doesn't want to confiscate our sinkholes!

I agree with the person that said it was a drone strike. The house is blown up and there is no hole. They said there is a hole but there is no hole. I looked at the video and there is no hole seen. There is no hole. There is not a hole in the video. There is no hole. The media is lying. The media is lying.

The hole is to the left of and behind that white cabinet looking thing in the middle. Whole floor missing from that room.

Rebar may be used now but I'm not so sure it was back when this house was built, 1950's-60's? And the place has that rather "home made" look to it as though they might have built it themselves.

Building codes have not always been what they are today and in some places back then were pretty well non-existent.

Maybe it's because I live where these sinkholes just pop up or rather under from time to time that I don't find this very mysterious.
