Quoting: Question EVERYTHING They have always been around. When they happen mostly underground, we call them caves. Being around and opening up constantly are two different things. What's going on with the surface of the crust that's causing this? Is it the weight load of people on these areas? I have never read stories like this on a weekly basis where huge holes are opening up all across the world on such a rapid rate. I'm not buying the "cave" theory, sorry. I could understand with the tunnels that have been dug underground for 50 years ago weakening the surface and that may be some of it at well. GLOBAL COASTAL EVENT |

The most famous one was in winter park florida in the 80's (I think). It swallowed up a porsche dealership, I think they lost 27 cars to the hole. As for what they mean by fluid, most of florida is very near sea level, so for instance, in most places when digging a hole in your yard, you will hit water at 6 ft depth. I would imagine that the water and all the dirt and limestone and muck would create a quicksand type of dirt. I was at the winter park sinkhole watching the porsche's fall in. Also there was an olympic size swimming pool on the back side that went in.
