While the rest of the cows were eating their own reworked dung, they were giving their healthy pastures to the spoilt cows, now the spoilt cows owe them. Except they were so busy getting fat on the others healthy pastures, they forgot to look after their own.

The spoilt cows also feel apprehensive about eating their own reworked dung.

Too bad, when they get hungry enough, they'll start eating.

I don't think I get your elaborate analogy . . . However, resource limitations and population growth as a problem has been known for centuries and has been well studied . . . especially in the last twenty decades . . . it is about caring capacity, technology, renewable resources, economic growth and living standards . . . higher living standards always leads to lower birth rates . . . if it were not for immigration the US and much of Europe would be experiencing declining population numbers . . .

Population alone is not the problem . . . the problem is cooperation between governments and raising living standards without increasing fossil fuel consumption and CO2 production . . . this is possible and can be accomplished . . .

An illustrated guide to Spoilt Cow syndrome...

Old cow spent many days harvesting, and collecting fresh grass... saving all of the fresh grass in case of the coming Big Draught! Old cow was middle aged cow then.

Old cow ask Rice cows for yummy grass, Rice cows very generous so they help Old cow out, thinking Old cow would someday repay them, or at least also help them in their time of need.

So Old cow spend many days eating fresh grass, while Rice cow work harder and harder growing pastures, while Old cow eat and eat.

Old cow now see Big Draught coming, but old cow not want to share the stored grass, and tells Rice cow he have to wait for little Moo-moo, Old cows kid, to supply grass from the long abandoned pastures.

Rice cow have to eat own reworked dung!

Little Moo-moo hungry, but Old cow selfish and does not want to share grass, Old cow say: "I'm old, and deserve to spend my days in restful retirement eating good grass, because I'm old, fat and... Old." so little Moo-moo have to eat reworked dung.

Moo-moo sad, and spend days being sad because Old cow leave him without future.

I wonder if St. Peter lets videogamers into Heaven. Someone should check to be sure.

Does the Pope have a history of not living in his own house for the majority of his adult life? Are they going to elect a lameass pontiff who doesn't file taxes on time?

Is he... a videogamer?

"...society being one big ponzi
scheme, and tax collecting cops all over
generating revenue from people who dare
drive faster than 55mph..."

Maybe you should try being a law abiding citizen, but that doesn't always work for everyone.

Thankfully, we have prisons for that, where these fellows are forced to become productive, away from the rest of society.

I did the whole launch thing, trashed it all figuring out if the system worked at a prima fascia level, (no), and now I am about to do it all over again. What did I learn?

Can we get a definition of "failure to launch"?

Does it mean living with parents and not moving out?

Not getting a job?

Not marrying?

It means young men living in their parent's basement (or something like the basement) instead of living on their own and are not employed or are under employed because of a lack of motivation or fear of failure . . . they may or may not have a girlfriend and have no ambition or desire to get married and start a family of their own . . . etc. . . .baby

Well, here I am lying on my couch, thinking on these things, I've passed up so many opportunities, I have a qualification, worked a high paying job for a while... only to give my bosses the finger, because I didn't like them, and I felt like it., because I hated my job.

After this I worked as a construction overseer, and made good cash out of it, I was offered a promotion, with me managing a huge project, but I refused the offer and quit after that because I felt like it, as I hated it.

Now I'm earning a meagre salary working at the airport, it's not bad, I enjoy my job. I smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol.

I had a relationship with a girl, she started talking about marriage, I abandoned her. After a year she's still bitter about it, posting videos on youtube and doing covers of depressing songs. Pathetic.

Now I'm on my own, living in a shithole, and I sort of enjoy it. I have no interest in pursuing the 'high life' so many sods dream about.

Why?

Well, so I can come here and bitch about it. I don't like it here, you have to fool yourself into enjoying most of everything.

The ones who are dead are less fortunate than me, the ones who are alive toil their lives away for nothing. Day in and day out it's the same shit over and over again.

So I'm trying to find God, so very very hard as it is, it is the only thing I can do that is of any use at all. Truth is such a rare thing. I go to church and get annoyed with people putting on a performance, laughing speaking in 'tongues' your general circus act. I go to get exorcised but I'm not possessed.

What do?

Some related data . . .

Sharing a household with family members is a time-honored strategy for stretching thin resources (Hareven 1990; Ruggles 1987) and young adults in the U.S. may have coped with challenging economic circumstances during the recent recession by living with parents, relatives or friends. There is some evidence that this is the case. For example, a Pew Report reported that 1 in 10 young adults moved back in with their parents as a result of the recession (Pew Research Center 2009). More recently, a Census report indicated that the number of 18 to 24 year olds residing in their parent’s household increased by 5.2 percent between 2007 and 2010 while the number of 25 to 34 year olds living in their parent(s) household increased by 17.5 percent between 2007 and 2010 (Mykyta and Macartney 2012).
