Failure to Launch and addiction . . .
 Quoting: George B

Would fit in to many of your poll choices - notably #3 (video games for which you wisely bring up WoW addiction), #4 (Addiction to materialism and the buying of desired goods that are not necessities feeding the unsustainable economic growth), #10 (alcohol, drugs, and pornography are not a reason for failure-to-starts - it is addiction to these vices that is the root cause for anyone who would pick #10 as the choice reason), and #11 (TV programming isn't itself inherently bad - being addicted to it is what causes problems).

#9 could even be fit in as women become addicted to the power that comes with roles in society that were shut to them for so long and refuse to respect those whose place in society they have taken and harvested power from.

The feminist movement put a lot of focus on dead beat dads. The unintended consequence is dead beat moms. The dark side of the feminist movement is manifesting as women making the conscious choice to, instead of empowering themselves into affluent positions in society, follow the path of failed men that the movement railed against.

Down-trodden women may be looking at life from the perspective of, "Well, if men for so long got away with not being responsible for their children, I now feel empowered to get away with the same."

Ugh...

No wonder I'm a single father. My daughters' mother had the nerve once to criticize me for not helping my daughters cope with a lifestyle where their parents are separated. I had to remind her that my parents were married when my mother died. I had to remind her that her father left her family. I had to remind her that she is the one equipped with the experience to help her children cope. I asked her to help me understand better, as well. As usual, she flaked. That's getting real about life, which is something TV-indulged entitled brat children that can't mature seem to have a problem with.

And to think my daughters' grandmother is now high-and-mighty with her Jesus enlightenment, trying to tell me about all the unnecessary damage her daughter and I have done to my children and asking if I bring my daughters to church.

Her tone changed when she learned the truth of what her daughter's done to me. Haven't heard back from her since :)

My answer, OP: shitty parents. That's the #1 reason. Parents too indulged in TV and their own lifestyles. Parents trying to vicariously live out their failed dreams through molding their children into themselves. Parents that don't know how to foster open-mindedness and unconditional acceptance.

I cannot argue with what you just said . . . each generation gets most of their problems from the past generation . . . from the past's morals, beliefs, behaviors, genetics, and so forth . . . so if the present generation is suffering the older generation only needs to look in the mirror . . . peace

In 2011, only 12% of respondents to the Junior Achievement Teens and Personal Finance Survey said they would probably be financially dependent on a parent or guardian until the age of 27. According to the newly released 2013 survey [PDF], that rate now stands at 25%. Meanwhile, those who are completely unsure of when or if they will ever be dependent has jumped from 1% in 2011 to 11% in 2013.

Endemic use of plastics mimicking estrogen has lowered testosterone rates throughout the western world, just for starters.

With both parents working, and exhausted, there is no bandwidth to pay attention to the development of offspring.

Culture has moved to the left where everything is excused and blamed on someone or something else.

Competition has been turned into a dirty word through our liberal school systems, and nobody wants to hurt anyone's self esteem by having "winners" and "losers" so the distinction never gets hardwired into their brains.

The absolutely normal desire to succeed is sidetracked by temporary satisfactions in a virtual world of games.

NWO planned for decades.

Sugary diet.

I lost my whole post, it was long winded anyway but maybe this generation that lives in the present and doesn't plan for the future is creating a null.

If our thoughts create reality....what if a generation showed up that didn't think like we did? That wasn't creating the future paths that we have imagined in our lives but is instead just living in the present?

A new reality on the rise?

About Null Zones

Null Zones irrevocably break up long established patterns, entrenched belief systems and basic behaviors. Old structures, both physical and non-physical, may be demolished in an instant. Our inner or outer landscape is dramatically reconfigured. Many of these are things that we have heavily identified ourselves with -- for they defined who we are and the world we live in. They were the building blocks of our old world, the ones that kept us locked into the world of duality. These include old roles which we felt defined who we are, the work we do, the physical environment that we live in and our normal pattern of daily activities and social interactions.

Generation null zone is scary for us not them...

This post is not the same as the other that I lost but it's my latest idea.

I think there are different degrees of null zoners, kinda bummed that I accidently clicked my last post into oblivion. That is an attatchment to the immediate past, are they just not attached? Generation attachment disorder?

I asked the question of whether they incarnated knowing something that we don't about this period in time. Or if they incarnated to heal the planet what would that look like? Would it be like not investing in the way things are?

if a guy isn't interested in marriage, he's not interested in having a family, he's just lookin out for himself, he's not really motivated.

If you had parents who were absolutely miserable it can kill your desire to ever get married, or have a family. Especially if you hate your fuckin family, you just generally have no desire to have a family of your own. If you hate your own race, you really have no desire to create more people like yourself.

My son is one of them! And we are at a loss to do anything.
We try but nothing works. And we are not kicking him out
as he doesn't cause trouble, doesn't drink or smoke or take drugs.
We are hoping he changes. But we are not holding our breath.

To top it off he looks like the good-looking guy in American psycho!
Women tell him that!

LOL! Not a very good comparison. Every Dr. Jekyll has his own Mr. Hyde...

No, now, seriously. That's not your boy's fault, that's for sure. It's the general context, it's simply a sick one for everything and everyone. It's beyond common logic. But the show must going on, you know, simply keep going ahead and God bless us!
