I think they just don't hate their parents as much as previous generations did so they are not motivated to leave. If your dad hasn't broken your nose why run away?

how i see it? society over the years has demoralized itself with the help of drugs, or entertainment, yeah lets let our kids listen to music about shooting police and doing drugs its cool. kids dont need friends they probably have enough they need parents. and im not some self righteous stuck up asshole, i drink from time to time. but there is a time and place for everything and you shouldnt put things that arent that important above things that are. at the end of the day we all make choices thats freedom enjoy.

A failure to launch girl can move in with an older man or guy/girl with extra cash. Guys have less social mobility when they are POS.

Girls seem to pursue academia much more than previous generations. With added competition comes a raised bar. Add in the drugs and screens young men are vulnerable to failure and no motivation to pick up the pieces.

Every generation before the parents of the millenials had life or death shit to deal with on the daily.

The generation of the parent's of the 15-30 year olds haven't had to do anything. They haven't had to learn to do anything but the corporate grind. Now it's about time. Their kids had no lessons to learn from. In a generation of instant gratification and excess how can one not expect apathetic nihilism to thrive?

My children and their kids will be fine though. They will have to watch me and my generation pick up the pieces, strike down the weakness, brighten up the bleakness.

i'm a successful single male in my 30s and i see no need to ever marry. if i do happen to meet that one girl who enhances my life i am totally willing and able, but so far i haven't met her yet.

Yep! In our desire for equality we've thrown the baby out with the bathwater, pun intended, and confused differing and balanced roles in society with equality. The two are like apples and oranges. Men and women were created different for a reason. BALANCE!! For each other AND society.

Well in this case on a personal level i was sheltered as a child. Wasn't able to date or do anything i was interested in until i was 16. I found drugs and alcohol before i had a chance to find life.

I also blame the system that labels everyone a winner or special. Gave me no motivation to prove something for myself. Just my take.

Actually the "9 to 5" assembly line thing has been around for maybe 100 years or so. Before that most societies were primarily agriculturally based and people generally were their own bosses. They worked very hard but usually not for someone else who was making a fortune off of them. This society in many ways was unsustainable from the get-go. Many have burnt out from it and for good reason.

If they're in this country, they're ILLEGAL ALIEN INFILTRATORS. They're NOT immigrants - immigrants are wonderful people who went through hell and back to become productive citizens of our great nation.

If you want your kids to grow up right, you have to love them, feed them, TRUST THEM, and guide them gently. Let them make mistakes, get hurt, figure things out for themselves, and by the time they're 18, they'll have a clue.

This isn't the 50's. Young men have realized that there is no point in busting their ass to get a high paying job just so a woman can leach off of them.

If a guy can go through life on a low paying job, play video games/do things he wants to and be happy doing it...then more power to him.

I was dating a chick a few months ago who made more $ than I did but fully expected me to pay for our dates, buy her things, etc. It blew me mind and the relationship didn't last too long. Women bring men down. It's a sad reality but it's true.

So drug abuse and sexually abused . . . Hmmmmm . . . I think there are many out there that don't fit that description . . .

it's both. and it is also difficult to raise children when there are two parents. it's like the one poster said above everybody is equal and that is so far from true. i saw when the "friends" tv show came out evryone should just hang out at that age. life has time when you work very hard and nothing is wrong with it. there are times for goofing off but if you want to get somewhere you need to work. women use to work hard in the home. today every young and evn older thinks it about push up bras and face lifts. men have become lazy and afeminant. they have lost pride in being able to take care of a wife and family. and we have lost the art of communications one on one.public schools are very bad today and for sometime they teach nothing but bullshit. all in all it is society we have all sold out

I'll answer that and I know I'm going to take a lot of flack for it. But women are emotionally stronger than men. Men might be better equipped physically than women, but women are the emotional power houses. Why? because we embrace our emotions, we don't burry them. We learn from early childhood how to deal with them head on. Unlike men who are taught as boys to suppress them. Basically...when going gets tough, the men shut down. The woman find their independent spirit and keep fighting for themselves and their children.

Now with that said, I will also acknowledge the fact that men have been brow beaten to death by society. I.E. the work place, the courts, even their own homes. Many of them have been raised by single mother's and with no father or father figure to show them HOW to be a man, they're left to figure it out on their own or through super heros which is setting them up for failure, as most super heros have super natural powers. Something they do not. Or they will look to male celebrities. Now how much are they going to learn from men who seem to "have it all" and because of this, many of those celebrities have " the world owes me a living" attitude, because they had everything handed to them on a silver platter.

It boils down to this. Why have men become the second class citizens in our Western society? They CONTROL the government! THEY make the laws! What does this tell you?
