I cannot decide if the society (meaning the affluent G20) are just spoiled by relative abundance and any retraction from that abundance and opportunity (by natural economic cycles) is causing undue stress or if we are being intentionally manipulated for some diabolical covert purpose . . . both are possible or a combo of the two . . . young men being the most vulnerable group to be affected . . .

Both, at a minimum.

This is where society becomes hypocritical George, and sadist as well. If in society very few things are worse than that stigma, and the interactions that arise 24/7 with it, then how is it not a challenge.

OP, stop running the rhino and let us know your thoughts on the results:

4) The economy stupid 16.0% (167)
3) Video games have created a generation of zoned out addicted young men 13.4% (140)
5) Lack of reasonable moral or religious upbringing 12.8% (134)
8) Everyone has given up. . . The young men just gave up first 11.8% (123)

It looks stupid what sheeple consider to be the main cause. I would say the root cause is the lack of reasonable moral or religious upbringing, the rest are just effects of that.

Because all are considered equal - there is no difference - mediocrity is considered the goal. Exceptionalism, of men or women is not expected nor desired.
 Quoting: No Dhimmi

That still does not explain women's greater desire to succeed while men are satisfied to observe. . . .
 Quoting: George B

Many white men have observed others (women and minorities) obtaining promotions based on thier status rather than thier skills and/or merit - they
lose their incentive to care or try.
 Quoting: No Dhimmi

Even if the promoter knows they are favoring the woman or whatever, they rationalize it off saying someone else will hire this guy.

Which is exactly the same rationalization used by every other promoter who does the same.

If there was a law stating that you have to carry home any spare change
someone donates to you, and everyone in your city donated a cent, you would be crushed under the weight.

This is what is happening, but in reverse.
 Quoting: Obsequious Pachyderm

Well don't worry . . . The rate the young men are throwing in the towel they will soon reach the disadvantaged oppressed minority status and will be given preference over the other minorities. . . . Just be patient. . . .

I guess that would be whomever is assisting in making a large segment of society disenfranchised.

I think we are all going to be surprised at just how acutely aware young men are of the expected response and manipulation over the years. All it will take is one reason to remove the willful blindness.

Often these triggers occur unexpectedly, or without fanfare.

Imagine a nuclear strike taking out a city in today's age, without triggering further nuclear conflict.

That would be somewhat shocking, because the last time a nuclear strike occurred openly, the USA was basically the only nuclear option around. And as soon as they used their weapons, they were not any more.

Now think about the contrast of today's youth, against what has historically occurred with young men.

Look how quickly Hitler captured the heart of a population, then look at the scale of the republic, versus the planet.

Now look to space, and the future.

Re: Why are there so many "failure-to-Launch Young Men" .. . .? . . .select the most likely reason . ..

I could be wrong I suppose, but I can't remember the last time I ate my words.

Maybe you are wrong and it's not a doomy tsunami that's approaching, but the newfound beach at a higher elevation.

My first thought to your thread, OP - why is there a movement afoot that elevates succeeded-to-launch women to role-model status in today's worlds of politics, economics, and business?

Why is the reponse to this movement that's growing now one that serves to break down the failure-to-launch men?

Who is going to step up and start focusing unbiased attention towards the failing women and the successful men?

It seems to me a person able to author a poll like this is stuck in the notion that men are expected to succeed in society and women are expected to faithfully ride on their coattails.

Well, the feminist movement was remiss to let us know that they were going to conveniently hold onto that expectation of male success and do whatever the fuck they please.

Young men expect very little from the women of their generation except that they will be tempted daily to use men for whatever financial and/or societal gain they are able to get out of a relationship and tuck tail and run at the first sight of greener grass.

The seeding of temptation is the important part to focus on. The temptation for young men now is to sit back and be lazy, and it's a result of women doing exactly this in men's eyes for too long. I'm not saying women are lazy - but the viewpoint that they are exists as a result of the long-standing societal norm of working man / housekeeping woman.

Again, the feminists fucked up when they were remiss to educate men on what housekeeping is all about before they tucked tail and ran into the working environment, leaving men to fend for themselves.

So, OP - where the fuck is 'The Feminist Movement's failures' in the list of answers?

The only truthful intent I can see in this poll is an attempt to find where one would place a band-aid upon socity. A place towards which to shift blame for the ills of society. A place to look so that one need not look where one needs to.

If you were kind enough to ask, I would explain to you the reasons why I at times fit the mold you question the root cause of. If you were not so judgmental and trying to generalize a personal issue, I would share how I escaped.

If you cared about the troubling situation with your heart, you would find the answer that can set you at ease.

Why don't you start by sharing why YOU, personally, are so concerned about this problem of today's world?

The real problem to be discussed is the masses of failure-to-launch PEOPLE. That's how you treat women and men equally - by stopping this fucking nonsense of casting problems of society onto solely one or the other.
