Video Showing the Huge Gap Between Super Rich and Everyone Else Goes Viral | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 33751951 United States 03/04/2013 07:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Okay, I get that the distribution of wealth in the country is skewed heavily in favor of the wealthy. And I get that the authors of that video think that this is a bad thing (else why the lugubrious/menacing music). Here's the fundamental question, however: Does a skewed distribution of wealth make me any less of a person or make my life any less worth living? I would submit that, so long as I can supply myself with the necessities of life and some quantum of the things that I might not need but want, then, no, it does not. Bill Gates has many, many times more money than I have. Does it make him happier than I am? More of a person than I am? Does it have any real impact on me whatsoever? Not really. Leftist thinkers like to posit that leftists are more concerned with the interests of the collective, the arts, learning, caring for others and that sort of thing; and that the right/republicans/conservatives are simply money grubbing, shallow greed heads. It has always stuck me as ironic, then, that those on the left spend so much of their time jealously pondering other people's money and figuring ways to classify its accumulation as a social ill and then how to get their hands on it. |

Same thing happened in Argentina before it collapsed. Blame the leaders....not the people with means. Right. Before Obama, the middle class was living the dream. What fucking planet are you from? Is the Middle Class BETTER OFF since OBAMA....or WORSE OFF??? No need to answer.....I rest my case. :rushhope: The game is rigged dumb ass. It has NOTHING to do with right/left or presidents. When are you gonna get it? Please. Wake the fuck up. And btw, my middle class family is better off now and not because Obama or Bush or any president did a fucking thing but because we made it happen. |

Deflecting the problem from the real perps and placing it on the President's shoulders. This has been going on for a very long time, exponentially increasing in the 80's. Yeah, blame it on the black guy, the Democrat. |

Rich people being rich has ZERO affect on your ability to get rich and have money too. The point is that the elite have their foot on the necks of the vast majority, causing the climb to more wealth to be extremely more difficult than it need be. |

Hey LOOK User ID: 32153508 United States 03/04/2013 08:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This also proves that poor and mid class Americans are slaves. The future for each of us is determined by the decisions of an unelected Federal Reserve Banking Corp. They are owned and controlled by the top 1%. They own the money therefore they own you. They determine the value of your money, which is not true wealth. The money we use is only a tool that is used to purchase items from companies and corporations that are owned by the people who determine the value of that tool. They can manipulate the people in so many ways with the system that we have to use that there is no doubt that we are slaves. There are still to many people in America who are ignorant to this, and when told about it, they go blank. This is a problem. The education system put in place by the puppet leaders has succeeded in the plan of the elites. That plan is dumbing, and it worked and continues to work. Even after kids have left the school system they are continually dumbed by a different info delivery system, Mass Media. We that are awake face a huge struggle even before the enormous struggle. The huge one is shaking up the sleepy so that they see how the truth is far away from the lies they've been told, that alone is a massive task. The enormous one is changing the system or maybe at least surviving what may come from the change. The struggle is within. It doesn't matter what you see, or into it what you read. You can do it your own way. If it's done just how I say. |

Quoting: Sloane I don't know how anybody can cry 'socialism' in this country. 'Socialism,' is the new buzz word, now used to instil fear & paranoia by demonizing anyone who challenges, or thinks about challenging (thoughtcrime) the elite. The truth is the profits generated are capitalistic, & the losses are socialistic, as in, paid for by the taxpayers! Ever felt like you've been conned? |

I live a very comfortable life, have many advantages, know many other wealthy people. Frankly we mostly hang out together cause we have access to the same things. Money tends to hang with money. yet I can tell you that this 1% is so wealthy, so in control that most of us are absolutely ignorant to the difference. Realize that it takes 200 2%ers to equal 1 1%er. its beyond ridiculousness. This absolute control is ending. When I see someone here cheering this on, that person, for me, looses credibility because they offer blind allegiance to someone that really would rather see them dead than care. I love you. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 35581899 United Kingdom 03/04/2013 08:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wealth distribution is even more skewed in most of the rest of the world and historically as well. The wealth of a citizen lies not just their bank account balance - but access to the communal infrastructures - roads hospitals, educational opportunities, internet, media, parks etc etc. In that sense we are all inconceivably wealthier than any previous generations. The fact remains that freemarket capitalism has lifted more people from poverty, disease, ignorance etc than any other system - the average person lives like the wealthy elites of centuries past. |

It is crystal clear to me.. that what the rich make..what the gubmint spends .. what the national debt is.. none of it really matters.. when you have billions and trillions of dollars..it all becomes play money.. just print more if you feel like it.. Money is just about control.. and they could makes us all millionaires if they wanted too.. but they want us poor.. and they hold us there.. on purpose.. so we will become even poorer.. so they can offer us a solution.. and you know what that solution is.. |
