IF you people could understand that .... OUR SOLAR SYSTEM IS NOT PART OF THE MILKY WAY GALAXY, but has now started DOWN THROUGH one of the arms of PLASMA, into 'other worlds', asteroids, solar systems on a 'speeding train' ( our sun and planets ) going 58,000 Miles per hour to WHERE (?) we DON'T know.

Then after 13,000 years, gravity of the Milky Way Galaxy stops our our downward plunge, and we start back up again, as the SMALLER galaxy we are part of is being CAPTURED by the M.W. Galaxy.

We ARE in totally uncharted territory, except for what the ancient civilizations left for us to read/interpret, BUT the far out scientists, religious nuts tell us to pay NO attention to what TWENTY THREE individual nations around the world ALL AGREE ON !

SO SAD, 99% are SO STUPID they can tell you most ball scores and what Lady Gaga wore in her last appearance but have NEVER heard of this history.

Having taught for 27 years in the public school system, I can assure you the parasitic politicians have COMPLETE CONTROL of what was being taught fro the 1970s ON ! I can ONLY take care of my family. Most are now UNTEACHABLE !

OP I will agree with you that were a headed toward "something". The proper description of the event could best be summarized as "fucking horrible". How will seven billion people compete for dwindling resources?

They won't. But a 1 or 2 billion will for sure.

If no war or something happens and everything will be manage to stay stable. (The costs will be huge just to do that alone).

There will be not much left to do for most people.
Most will be bored: Some rich and 80% of the rest.

Longterm problem is motivation.
Increase of addictions, online stuff & web-content.

Stagnation of innovation.

Something else to consider:


Technology is said to progress at an exponential rate- which means that the progress we will see in the next ten years, from 2013-2023 will be comparable to the leaps in progress made from 1900-2000. Which is really difficult to comprehend.


What *is* certain is that technology will eventually make it so that mankind will have very little manual labor to do. Which *SHOULD* be embraced as a wonderful advance.

Mankind will be free to pursue the things that truly make human life magnificent: the arts- poetry, music, singing, dancing, painting, sculpture, et al., the liberal arts- language, philosophy, theology, etc., as well as exploring the universe and continuing to devote one's time and life to *the* most human aspect of all: Love- toward oneself, love toward fellow humans, romantic love toward a soulmate, and love toward the creator/God/the universe in toto.

Instead, I fear, politicians will *rail* against this, and will continue to fight wars, fear-monger, spread hatred and sow distrust, and force humans into meaningless jobs, much like most of humanity currently does.

You have just described me. But after 12 years, I don't hold up to much in the way of doom anymore. But if it is going to happen, you will hear about it first on GLP.

yup we're right on the verge of the singularity.
It just feels close; but so far disruptions in the world have yet to actually even slow down tech development; it actually feeds it. (who knows if we make it; this change coming could stop it; maybe they want it all for themselves, transhumanist...)

I have been here 13 years and my information comes from SO MANY sources from many years it would be impossible.

If you would read the science/solar system/' We are going to collide with another solar system' threads, you could pick it up. Having taught science for over 20 years, and read every thread concerning same, I am STILL learning and TRYING to help others. Best way to start is to read Zack Stichin's books, starting with his first, The 12th Planet; then " Stairway to Heaven "; "The Wars of Gods and Men", etc. as they will easily acquaint you with ancient history.

There was a recent thread about James McCanney and the approaching 'Other solar system', as well as a few more. Hope this helps.
