the start of obama care??? - nurses refused desperate pleas from a 911 operator to perform CPR
could this be the start of obama care?

I read some where that in the obama care package they wouldn't help the elderly who are about to die..

so like that woman in the article... she didn't get help

they said it was because of company policies

Re: the start of obama care??? - nurses refused desperate pleas from a 911 operator to perform CPR
A California retirement home is backing one of its nurses after she refused desperate pleas from a 911 operator to perform CPR on an elderly woman who later died, saying the nurse was following the facility's policy.

"Is there anybody that's willing to help this lady and not let her die," dispatcher Tracey Halvorson says on a 911 tape released by the Bakersfield Fire Department aired by several media outlets on Sunday.

The lady who was dying had a DNR (do not resuscitate). It's policy for the home to inform emergency services, but against policy AND THE WOMAN'S WISHES to perform CPR.

Has nothing to do with Obamacare, or 'lack of caring' on the nurses part. If anything, I commend the nurse for following protocol-it's never easy to watch someone die, especially when you know that you could prolong their life by using CPR, and you have to sit and watch.

If she did NOT have a DNR then it is an atrocity. If she DID have a DNR wish, it's just like the public to FORCE a miserable existence on the woman. I honestly hope I have a heart attack or something quick. My Grandmother (96) is dieing with Alzheimers and my mother-in-law finally passed Thankfully! What a cruel way to go. She was in such good physical shape she lasted 12 years with the full blown disease attacking her. If she would have had a heart attack and NO DNR, it would not have been merciful at all to prolong her suffering. Poor women. I couldn't hold a candle to these women's goodness in life and it is certainly a torturous ending.

I do NOT believe in aiding death in any way but to let nature take it's course instead of a libs bassakward "goodness" is more merciful and always less torturous!

I thought the same, "DNR". If she didn't want to be resuscitated, there is nothing they can do. They are required to abide by her wishes.
