Help me get rid of this reoccuring dream
I actually don't want to talk about the content of the dreams other than the same guy appears every single time. I'm a woman btw. The scenery changes, sometimes its a different situation entirely, but the same person is always there. This has been happening every single night for about 6 weeks now. It's not a guy I know from real life.

I just want it to stop. How do I make it stop?

Ask yourself why you're subconsciously creating this experience for yourself in your dreams -- why are you being shown this person. What is the significance of his presence? How do you feel seeing this man in all of your dreams?

I do speak to him. The relationship is typically distant. Sometimes there is a closeness. He plays different characters sometimes, sometimes there are repeated introductions, sometimes we are old pals, but its always the same face.

I don't want to really meddle with it, I really just want it to stop.

you may need to totally change your day to day routine.like possibly finding a new job.i was having the same dream where i would leave my truck and when i would return it would be gone. i eventually knew in my dream what was gonna happen. i would then start to walk home not really sure exactly where home was, and it was always when the sun was going down.had to quit my job and i have completely different dreams now.

I have. At this point, its taking over my waking state. To have this guy show up night after night, its stuck in my head and I get distracted doing normal day to day things. I feel like making sense of it is just going to make me crazier.

I was thinking that writing about it now might somehow stop it.

You're creating this experience for yourself in your dreams for a reason -- for you to try and contemplate it is the first step in realizing what is being conveyed to you in the first place. But, the most important thing you can ask yourself, is how do you feel, each time you see this person in your dream?

Re: Help me get rid of this reoccuring dream
OP do you have some type of unresolved conflict or emotional pain/turmoil from your past that could be manifesting itself as these encounters with this unknown individual in your dream state? Any unresolved relationships from your past where there still might be feelings or a lack of closure?

Think about your life and your past experiences... Is there something that still bothers you or that you haven't been able to move beyond?

Dreams are tricky to analyze and our left-brain usually tries to analyze them from a rational/logical (or more literal) perspective but dreams don't usually operate in that matter....

Re: Help me get rid of this reoccuring dream
That is a strange dream, most repenting dreams come from repressed memories and when you figure what happened it stops.

Now there is one other thing I have heard about and that is some one from your family visiting you in you dreams. It could be a grandpa, uncle, dad, brother or anyone that died before you could remember them.

If you can draw even a little, try to draw his face. The eye color the way he talks, etc.. then ask your family if they know anyone like that. You do not have to tell them way you are asking, but if they don't know the person you describe then you can mark that off. There is a reasoning behind this point, I know people it has happened to.

Just write what the guy is saying to you, it might be you, that is trying to tell you something.

Then it seems like this person either represents your willingness to achieve a balance of your male energy within yourself or it might be your mind trying to ease the pain of some experience you may have had in the waking life by using this figure as a symbolic representation of that specific experience. Have you had a bad relationship in the past, or someone you've unable to get over (or better yet, someone that you really want to be together with)?

No I thought for a while that maybe it was representative of an ex lover where there was a lack of closure but I don't think so anymore. The guy looks very distinctly different from that ex or any other ex I've had. These dreams not explicitly sexual - which is really weird because I'm a total whore sometimes in my dreams.

I can't draw at all but I may actually try asking around about the person if it continues. That's not a bad idea. Thanks.

I have been writing some stuff down. But I get kind of confused, even if its right after I wake up.

Re: Help me get rid of this reoccuring dream
I think sometimes our dreams are a way for our body/subconscious to let us know things that we should pay attention to - but often the messages are symbolic and hard to interpret. I was having some intense reoccurring dreams, but since figuring out the personal significance, when I have them now they are almost lucid.

This website helped me figure out the significance, maybe it could help you too?

You don't have to see your ex in a dream for the meaning of the dream to be about your relationship with him. Maybe this lack of closure with your ex is creating this manifestation of this man in your dreams? It seems to me this person is a symbolic manifestation of your love life -- which is an indicator by how comfortable you felt around this person. Which really isn't a person to begin with -- it's a part of yourself.

Maybe the annoyance you feel is the annoyance you feel in yourself because you didn't get closure from your ex in the past? Hmm..

My user ID changed like 3 times now and I'm having some internet troubles.

Anyway thank you all. Really. But it's so late, I have to go to sleep now. Hopefully things change. I really thought maybe expressing some of this with others might actually lure the character out or something.

Goodnight everyone. Pleasant dreams....

He's a simple exercise... when you're dreaming, and you actually realize that you are dreaming, try to look at your hand.
