I've used several over the years but HM has been the best for me in terms of reliability, customer service and features. I tried godaddy a few times - found it a miserable experience each time - never again. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24185552 Thanks. I had my domain names at GoDaddy, but they gave me all kinds of grief when I went to move them to another DNR. Very sneaky and spammy. Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? I wish our profiles would list all our threads and not just recent ones, because I didn't even know there were replies here since there was a span of time between them and it rolled off the end of the list. Anyway, I finally wound up with JustHost: [link to www.justhost.com (secure)] Decent prices, good reputation, and so far I haven't had any problems. Buck Zander User ID: 26745463 Canada 07/22/2013 07:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was with Aletia for several years before Jag took over. I stayed with Jag for several more years, but their growing pains were just too many too often. I'm spread over a few hosts now, some shared and some VPS, all found and researched through WebHostingTalk forums. That would be my suggestion. Look at the offers in the appropriate forum (shared, in your case: [link to www.webhostingtalk.com] ) and then read up on past and present reviews on said hosts. Look for "lifetime coupon" deals, which come up quite often, expecially when the economy slows down. I got a couple of shared Stablehost accounts on one such offer a couple of years ago, where I pay peanut shells per year. There must be a law that people can't lie. |

Its down right now to. Quoting: Justhost.com = bluehost.com, hostmonster.com = justhost.com They are all the same company. Every single one of these 5.00 and less companies are the same. The BBB states that Justhost.com is owned by bluehost.com [link to www.bbb.org (secure)] Justhost.com AKA Bluehost.com Use a real hosting company like rackspace or arvixe or something better. I switched companies a long time ago and keep some old files on just host for easy access they promise 99% uptime and in the 2 years I've delt with them i've had a 50% or less up time and that is no joke Last Edited by Keep2theCode on 08/02/2013 08:50 AM Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? Keep2theCode (OP) User ID: 20545539 United States 08/02/2013 02:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can speak as both a customer of other hosting companies and an engineer at Rackspace, that indeed Rackspace is a huge fraud. They rely on a lot of parroting word of mouth cheerleading to get their brand name perpetuated through the meta/blogs, banner ads, and target marketing. NOT technical expertise or reliability. Quoting: I have worked for the company for years and while it has its benefits as an employee, the management and vision at Rackspace is horrible. The dirty truth most do not know about Rackspace is they hire salespeople in bulk every month, not well rounded, certified, well tech-screened engineers or managers. Most of the people working at Rackspace today are non-technical idiots who pass the buck to a much smaller pool of stressed-out knowledgeable engineers who are leaving to the competition in mass at present. I am really surprised so many people actually pay premium price for Rackspace, but from what I have seen, those people doing so, tend to be pretty non technical themselves and hence why they are so shocked when they find out how susceptible they are to Rackspace corporate dysfunction, downtime, outages, and horrible support. I honesty encourage all who wish to pay for hosting, to do their research, you might be surprised how little those people you are talking to when they are trying to get you to sign a contract really know about even the basics of hosting.
