I know it used to be the FBI who investigated gambling in bars and such. My uncle got busted a few years back because of the machines he had. I know there are still bars and private clubs that have them in the back rooms, the VFW my pap goes to still has 2. Maybe that's why they are there... but it does not explain DHS being there; I find it difficult to believe anybody at a VFW would need DHS after them... unless they are "Patriot" groups now.

It looks like the VFW may have been involved in activity that traditionally would be investigated by customs and immigration (now known as DHS)!

The Sheriffs Office was there because they were notified of the raid by ICE which is protocol!
