I actually slept for 8 hours straight last night

Haven't gotten 8 straight hours of sleep in about oh...5 years.

Me too. Then another 4 hour nap... unheard of. Generally about 6 or 7 hours but 14? It was great!

I sleep 9-10 hours each night. I train with weights and enjoy running long distances. Sleep is not hard for me. Yet I rarely dream dammit!!

Good job on your 8 hours, start working out and get more rest. 4-5 hours a night is bad for your health, maybe limit the caffeine intake?? Best wishes.

but go get tested, it may be too late for your health.

Many here may not know I do shift work overnight at a radio station, so sleep is a very precious thing for me.

Ah, sleep, I love sleep.

I need at least 8 hours though and prefer much more.

On those very rare days where I don't have to either go in to work, finish up work at home, go to class, or do classwork, or have to do anything else, I will sleep 12 hours that night, wake up for four hours, then take a four hour nap, then up for another four, then back to sleep. Ah so nice. But like most of us I almost never have an opportunity to sleep away the day.

Hopefully, I can do it again tonighte.

But I think I got lucky.

Usually, if I sleep really well the one night, the next night not so good, almost like my body got its fill.

I read someplace that if you eat a lot of protein it causes gout. Before you notice the painful joints swelling it gives you insomnia.
I also read baking soda can stop the uric acid buildup that causes insomnia and gout.

Just a thought.

Wow do you guys suffer from insomnia? Goodness that must suck. I drink to fall asleep and keep out the demons. So I know what you are going through. I'm sure there's a better way. But I'd rather go down a happy heathen.
