Koreans to prepare for 'All-Out' War - Now even China is spooked - Live Updates ... Quoting: ASV 9604308 Another truism. That's another trick to having a GREAT, fun-filled life -- learn to APPRECIATE things you have and know, if only intuitively, how quickly that can be taken away (especially in nuclear age we live in) For instance, I may be ambitious as fuck but always try to stay humble, to remind myself how lucky I am in most respects, including being born into awesome family... Learn from OTHER people's mistakes & tragedies, always remember that if can easily happen to you. Makes it easy to appreacite what we do have. On the other hand, you have weed-headed, sheltered, spoiled Western brats who are mired in permanent depression, existential ennui, rudderless.... no wonder they crave war, or some kind of drama -- and drugs of course. It's just never enough, they simply don't have a clue about how privileged they are to live in the US during 21st century. No clue. YES. Look at America's meteoric rise as a Super-power post-WW2. The Greatest Generation. They grew up during the Great Depression --- and contrary to whatever glib pundits say about the current Recession being so horrible, it is NOTHING like the Great Depression was. Not even close. You had (former) lawyers, stock brokers, accountants stand in lines for fricken SOUP. Or leave their families and go to Oklahoma for some sucky menial job. Great Depression featured 25% unemployment, almost 40% under-employment -- and the people who worked were often paid like shit, with very little benefits, no medicare, no Social Security, no Medicaid, and with very little protection against their employer (nevermind having Sexual Harassment rules on the books, LOL many secretaries had to dust off their knee-pads to even retain their jobs, no human resources to bitch to). No air-conditioning, no indoor-plumbing in suburbs, no cable TV or Internet, or most of the other creature comforts. Well, you take those Great Depression kids... and put them through the horrfic meat-grinder that was World War-2. Even though America didn't suffer like, say Soviet Union, or even Germany, Japan did... suffice it to say it was REAL effin' war, not a glorified video-game for most people ala Gulf War in '91. Ok, so if you're an average 20 year old G.I. returning home... having known nothing but hardship & challenges in your short life....and you finally see your girl, your woried parents, you see your big, beautiful country standing in stark contrast to the destroyed Europe --- then wham, you lean have a chance to become the first person in your family tree to ever go to college courtesy of the G.I. Bill..... Man, at that point you might as well be Leonardo DiCaprio in that famous Titanic scene with Rose. You are the freakin' King of the World. Things are looking up, life is just booming ---- America becomes super-power, modernizes, economy takes off, Merylin Monroe on every street, national highways systems, the works. And what do today's pussies of my generation have? Everything. Living comparatively easier, better life than 99 % in the world, throughout 99.9% of history. What have they had to overcome? Nothing. But Oprah and Dr. Phil held their effete hand & had to tell them how pretty they looked! Have to take drugs, prescription or recreational, just to get out of bed in the morning. No wonder the "uncool" old-timers roll their eyes. A lot of people here grow up expecting that everything shall be handed to them. If they don't like things, they don't want to lift a finger for anything and look to mommy and daddy or the government to fix it. And they're always so bored and miserable living without a plan, without a goal; just waiting to be entertained and given free shit. That's why they don't even find it important to know how to read. There was a thread about 80% illiteracy in students the other day. They don't give a sh** about anything but want to see the world burn because they have done nothing with their lives to be proud of. I hate to rain on your parade however there are literally MILLIONS of Americans that have worked all their lives full time and even two jobs just to make ends meet. Americans are some of the hardest working people on the planet. Don't believe me? Then how did this country become so wealthy? Why did the USA for so long have one of if not the highest standard of living in the World? It was because of hard work! Now we have all these shills coming in here trying to make people feel guilty that they are unemployed through no fault of their own. Fuck you. Stop apologizing for the bankers, corporate thieves and corrupt politicians that have pillaged and plundered this country. Your psychobabble bullshit got old after the first time we bailed you greedy types out in(2008). The shills are shilling for their corporate masters. You can mock all you want, no bailouts for you and your kind. Now it's your turn to stand behind the counter at Mcdonald's, Burger King etc. |

Koreans to prepare for 'All-Out' War - Now even China is spooked - Live Updates N Korea sanctions not the answer: China SANCTIONS against North Korea over its nuclear program are not "the fundamental way" to resolve the crisis, China's foreign minister says. China is the North's sole major ally and by far its biggest trading partner, including being its primary energy supplier. It voted on Thursday for the UN resolution that stiffened restrictions on North Korea's financial dealings, notably its suspect "bulk cash" transfers, and blocked imports of some luxury goods, following Pyongyang's nuclear test last month. "The DPRK conducted a third nuclear test and tensions on the Korean peninsula once again heightened," Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi told reporters in Beijing on Saturday, using the North's official name. "We always believe that sanctions are not the end of security council actions, nor are sanctions the fundamental way to resolve the relevant issues." Reiterating China's longstanding position, he called for dialogue and negotiations, including a resumption of the six-party talks process, which has been moribund since 2009. "We call on all relevant parties to bear in mind the larger interest, stay calm, exercise restraint and refrain from taking any move that may further worsen the situation." Since the UN resolution was passed the North has responded with fresh threats of nuclear war, vowing to scrap peace pacts with South Korea as its rhetoric reached a frenzied pitch. In Chinese strategic thinking, North Korea is a "buffer zone" that prevents the 28,500 US troops stationed in South Korea encroaching on its own border. But analysts say that Pyongyang's actions mean the relationship risks becoming an irritant for Beijing. Read more: [link to www.news.com.au] |

Koreans to prepare for 'All-Out' War - Now even China is spooked - Live Updates Here's a look at the Kim's escalating rhetoric and his country's actions since he came to power following his father's death in 2011: March 2012 -- As South Korea hosts world leaders at an international nuclear security summit in Seoul, North Korea moves a long-range rocket toward a launch pad. Pyongyang says it plans to carry out the test in mid-April as part of a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kim Il Sung, the nation's founder. April -- Defying warnings by U.S. President Barack Obama that Kim has nothing to gain from provocations, Pyongyang launches the rocket. It breaks apart and falls into the sea. August -- Kim visits the same military unit behind a 2010 attack on South Korea's Yeonpyeong Island, where he reminds the troops to be ready to fight a "sacred war" against Seoul. The North Korean leader makes the veiled threat just ahead of an annual war games conducted of the Korean Peninsula by the United States and South Korea. The dictator calls the joint Seoul-Washington military exercises a "war rehearsal" to invade. October -- North Korea claims to have developed missiles that can reach the U.S. mainland. December -- Kim announces plans to launch another long-range rocket in a renewed effort to send a satellite into space. Two days after the government announces the launch window is being pushed back because of technical issues, the rocket lifts off from the west coast of North Korea. Pyongyang declares the mission a success. January -- North Korea announces it is planning a new nuclear test and more long-range rocket launches, all of which it says are part of a new phase of confrontation with the United States. The threats come two days after the U.N. Security Council approves the broadening of sanctions in response to the rocket launch in December that apparently put a satellite in orbit. February -- North Korea carries out an underground nuclear bomb test on February 12. The test is designed "to defend the country's security and sovereignty in the face of the ferocious hostile act of the U.S.," the North's state-run Korean Central News Agency says at the time, referring to new U.S.-led sanctions. "This nuclear test is our first measure, which displayed our maximum restraint. ...If the U.S. continues with their hostility and complicates the situation, it would be inevitable to continuously conduct a stronger second or third measure." March -- Angered by U.N. Security Council sanctions over its nuclear test, North Korea threatens for the first time to launch a preemptive nuclear strike against the United States and South Korea. It's one of a series of threat that begins with Pyongyang threatening to scrap the 1953 truce that effectively ended the Korean War. At the same time, it cuts off its direct phone links with South Korea at Panmunjom, the abandoned village that sits on the border between the two countries. On Friday, North Korea doubles down on the threat, saying it is nullifying the joint declaration on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. One of the country's top generals, according to published reports, claims Pyongyang has nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles that are ready to be fired. [link to edition.cnn.com] |

He/she is using the same ol' patently fallacious, passive-aggressive Liberal/Libertarian "woe is us" rhetorical misdirection & strawman. Whining, excuses, non-sequitur "bankers this, corporations that".... how pathetic! (Which is NOT to excuse the perfect storm of malice, mega-greed & incompetence by corporations, banks, and individuals --- including politians, regulators and yes ordinary citizens who wanted McMansions like on MTV Cribs without having a dime to their name.....that resulted in the September 2008 Collapse, but that's a whole another dicussion altogether, Libtards!) And I love how the silly rabbit tries to claim credit for America's greatness! LMAO, you wish. Here's a clue: America's historical greatness has next to NOTHING to do with you or my generation. No, it's your grandfathers and their grandfathers that made it happen; THEY were the ones to go through famines, wilderness, wars, epidemics, more wars and whole lot of HARD work that you wouldn't even dream of trying to do -- that's why feeble-wristed Libtards love importing all the illegal Mexicans, remember? Literally everything was invented & created by those who came BEFORE us -- including the Internet, the computer and everything else that makes this little exchange even physically possible.... Don't get me wrong, my upcoming generation has its share of future brilliant & creative people that will contribute greatly to this country and the world as a whole... but we're making a general comparison here. As another Uncool Old Guy (Ronny Reagan) said, American Exceptionalism, Greatness, Freedom and all that other good stuff is NOT passed genetically or through mother's milk -- no, it must constantly re-affirmed & revitalized by each successive generation. And considering how my peers - and for that matter previous generation of Gen X'ers... bitch & moan about everything without realizing how (historically) PRIVILEGED they/we are --- well that doesn't bode well for the future of this country. Sure, by "inertia" America is guaranteed to be awesome for another 5, 10, maybe even 20 years ---- if only because of how much more advanced & awesome we are compared to even juggernauts like Russia or China who also have their share of profound, systemic if not existential problems..... but that gap is closing. Even if people don't agree with some ideas or assumptions, which is fine, my whole point is to learn to APPRECIATE the small stuff, the little things -- and certainly NOT to go all fat-tard about the prospect of a nuclear showdown with North Korea or anybody else. Basically don't be a nihilistic uber-beyotch, is all I am saying :) |

ChiComs have to be the most insidious "people" in the world --> as thanks for the American assistence & system that helped take some HALF-BILLION Chinese out of crushing poverty in the last 30 years.... not only is China gobbling up all the resources all over the world, not only is China violating intellectual property rights, spying, hacking, cyber-stealing on a truly UNPRECEDNTED scale.... Koreans to prepare for 'All-Out' War - Now even China is spooked - Live Updates US worried by North Korea threats, imposes new sanctions WASHINGTON — The Obama administration expressed heightened concern Monday over threats of war from nuclear-armed North Korea and issued new sanctions against the communist nation's primary exchange bank and several senior government officials. In the last three months, Pyongyang, under its enigmatic young leader Kim Jong Un, has defied the United States and other world powers by testing an intercontinental ballistic missile and testing a third nuclear bomb. Its latest salvo: a declaration carried through state media that it was cancelling the 60-year armistice that maintains peace on the Korean peninsula. Washington is walking a tight line. It is trying not to overplay the danger from an attention-seeking regime infamous for its bluster but has to take the North's threats of possible military action seriously. The U.S. also is treaty-bound to provide support for South Korea or Japan in the event of any aggression. "We are certainly concerned by North Korea's bellicose rhetoric," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters Monday. "The threats that they have been making follow a pattern designed to raise tension and intimidate others. The DPRK will achieve nothing by threats or provocation, which will only further isolate North Korea and undermine international efforts to ensure peace and stability in northeast Asia." In an effort to combat North Korea's weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs, the Obama administration issued a series of sanctions Monday. [link to www.northjersey.com] |

Koreans to prepare for 'All-Out' War - Now even China is spooked - Live Updates UN says Korean War armistice still in force UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The armistice ending the Korean War is still valid and still in force, despite North Korea's claim that it has been nullified, the top U.N. spokesman said Monday. Martin Nesirky said the 60-year-old armistice agreement had been adopted by the U.N. General Assembly and neither North Korea nor South Korea could dissolve it unilaterally. North Korea's Foreign Ministry last week said it was cancelling the armistice after the U.N. Security Council adopted another round of sanctions to punish Pyongyang for its latest nuclear test. The country's main newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported Monday that the armistice was nullified. North Korea's mission to the U.N. did not respond to requests for comment. "The terms of the armistice agreement do not allow either side unilaterally to free themselves from it," said Nesirky, the spokesman for U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. "The secretary-general calls on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to continue to respect the terms of the armistice agreement as it was approved by the General Assembly," Nesirky added. He said officials at U.N. headquarters in New York were unaware of any operational changes on the ground on the Korean Peninsula. The North followed through on another promise Monday, shutting down a Red Cross hotline that the North and South used for general communication and to discuss aid shipments and separated families' reunions. Koreans to prepare for 'All-Out' War - Now even China is spooked - Live Updates North Korea threatens to 'wipe out' South island AFP - North Korea leader Kim Jong-Un threatened to "wipe out" a South Korean island as Pyongyang came under new economic and diplomatic fire Tuesday from US sanctions and UN charges of gross rights abuses. Military tensions on the Korean peninsula have risen to their highest level for years, with the communist state under the youthful Kim threatening nuclear war in response to UN sanctions imposed after its third atomic test last month. It has also announced its unilateral shredding of the 60-year-old Korean War armistice and non-aggression pacts with Seoul in protest at a joint South Korean-US military exercise that began Monday. While most of these statements have been dismissed as rhetorical bluster, the latest threat to the border island of Baengnyeong, which has around 5,000 civilian residents, appears credible and carries the weight of precedent.
