This news just really hurts my heart. I know that
with this rediculously depressed economy, lots of
vets with their wives and kids are making ends meet
by having a chance to use their G.I. Bill benefits.
My x-husband and I really depended on them coming
through for his benefits, and there was NEVER any
consideration that it wouldn't be there for his
next semester....My God. What is going on?

My worst thought is that giving prospective young
people the "carrot" of having a college education
after their service is a HUGE incensitve for new recruits.
O.K. So....follow the logic, here.
If the Armed Services do NOT need to give the guys/gals
an incentive to join--they must be planning a full-out
draft and a WAR where there won't be any question about
"benefits" up-front. They didn't give G.I.'s incentives
to join-up for WWII...everyone just went because it was
what was expected to protect the country.
This isn't just a SEQUESTER CUT....THIS IS A SYMPTOM
for a declaration of war.
I pray that I'm wrong.
