Has intuition saved your life or prevented considerable pain and suffering. . .?

During Mardis Gras in Galveston TX one year, I was very stoned and just walking amongst the crowd and taking in the sights when all of the sudden I heard what sounded like firecrackers. Everyone in the whole street starting getting down to their knees in what seemed like perfect unison radiating from the gunshots.

The guy that got shot for defending his girlfriend from someone who groped her was lying dead very near my friend and I. We thought that was a good time to get out of there. I was driving away and came up to a four way intersection where we had the all clear and the side street had the stop sign. For some reason I decided to stop at the intersection before proceeding even though I did not have to. A car (probably the getaway car) came hauling but through the stop sign around 70mph. We would have been TOAST!

There are many more, but that was first to come to mind after reading someone elses...

I have too many stories to post.

One time, I went completely against all my intuition and ended up having seizures and hospitalized.

I have another story about the Joplin tornado, but to make a very long story short. We(family) were living there in a hotel days before the storm. We went back to Springfield because we had a bad feeling. It saved our lives, and often I wonder why our lives were saved and so many others were not. My husband was working there, and his restaurant was destroyed as well as the hotel we were living in.

Most interesting . . . extra conscious sight, hearing or a guardian angel . . .

I have had several incidents involving snakes.

The most recent one was at a relative's house, and I went outside to smoke and sit down on their front porch. It was raining and the driest spot was a small rug. Something told me to look under the rug, and there was a young copperhead.

I would have sat right on it!

I absolutely think there is a real sixth sense for detecting dangerous animals.

That was the third incident - I'll tell the other two.

The second one happened when I used to deliver pizza. I showed up at a guy's house, and right before I got out of the car, I had a very uncomfortable feeling that there was a snake right on the ground. There wasn't, but as soon as I got to the door, the guy said to me, "Man you should have been here five minutes ago. I just got home with my son, and there was a copperhead on the porch. He almost stepped on it and I had to kill it".

The very first incident occurred when I was a kid, maybe 6 or 7. My younger brother and I were playing with an empty kid's pool. I picked it up, and my brother yelled "snake!" and we both ran. I didn't see anything, but I remember being really scared. My dad came out and killed two copperheads that were under there.

I think that the first incident caused me to "learn" to sense snakes, or at least copperheads (they are the most common venomous snake here in Georgia). I believe that there is some sort of radiation or vibration that they give off which I became partially attuned to.

Very, very possible . . .

It has happened many times where Intuition has saved me from being hurt or killed. I always follow my inner voice, and it has not led me down a bad path, not once. I have avoided a head on by deciding to go a different direction, than usual, and taking the longer route, only to find out that there was someone headed going the wrong way on the interstate that would have hit me dead on if I had gone that way. What we call intuition, is listening to the True Self, that is, a greater part of who we are that dwells in the higher realms.

Intuition most likely has its origins in ancestral instincts for survival and adaptation. There is no way that our human ancestors could have survived without intuition. There could not have been much conscious thinking before speech evolved, some 250,000 years ago, yet Pithecanthropus erectus goes back some 4.5 minion years. Old Pith could not possibly have survived predators or such natural threats as the melting of the ice age without intuitive decisions-where to make a fire, when to store meat, when to move to the highlands. There was no time for thinking or laborious logic. Responses often had to be instantaneous. The sound of movement in the brush required an immediate reaction. Those who failed to respond were removed from the gene pool by voracious predators. For Old Pith, intuition was likely the only form of organized preverbal intelligence.

Yes, intuition has either saved my life, or saved me and my family from pain and suffering.
The first time was when I was 13 years old and living with my siblings and our mother. The men that lived next door to us were making a considerable racket in their garage, which was outside my bedroom. No voices, but lots of clanging and disruption of objects. The racket ended, and I tried to go back to sleep, but was severely and weirdly unsettled. I had to visit the bathroom, and did so, but before I exited, some inner force directed me to look out the bathroom window.
I turned out the light and went over to the window that faced the same side as the neighbors house where I heard the noises. When I looked toward the left and my mother's bedroom, I saw something. And as my eyes adjusted, it turned out to be an ear. The ear of a man who was holding up binoculars, and peering into my mother's open window. I walked briskly into her room and, as she recalls, I was pale as a ghost, and said, " there is a man looking in your window." She slammed the window shut and called 911. They found a tree stump right there over the fence and searched the garage, but never questioned the neighbors. So we moved.

About Two years later, at another house we lived in, we had just arranged with the neighbors to share the cost of building a new fence. So, the old one was torn down and remained like that for a few weeks.
Again, late one night I awoke, feeling deeply unnerved and decided to make sure the doors were locked. I went around to all of the doors, and only one, the one near the fence construction, was unlocked. I locked it and walked into the living room.
Instead of going to bed, I just stood there in the middle of the house, looking around, not being able to shake the uncomfortable feeling that had awakened me. As I did, a man came vaulting through the neighbors yard, and grabbed the doorknob of the door I had JUST locked. He tried and tried to get it open, and I yelled for my Mom. The man ran off, we called the police, and I gave them the description. The fence was rebuilt and he never came back.

The time that I believe my life was saved by my intuition, was in my twenties. I lived on the campus of the local university. It was Spring break, and I had just returned from road trip with friends. We had returned mid-week, and our neighborhood was virtually deserted.
My friends all roomed together in a house about a mile from my single apartment. Everyone was exhausted upon return, so we unpacked at their house and I took my stuff and walked home. I was carrying my knapsack and a paper bag of leftover groceries.
When I came within a block of my apartment house, a blue bronco truck pulled up at the corner I was about to cross. A man was inside. A red headed man of about 45, wearing a baseball cap. He beckoned for me to cross ahead of him. Immediately, all the hair on my neck stood up, but I remained calm, and declined, waving him ahead. He pulled through the intersection and took a right toward my place. I dropped all of my stuff on the sidewalk and ran to my left toward a house where I saw at least two cars parked out front.
I ran as fast as I could, but he saw me and turned around, and started chasing me, and yelling, "I'm going to get you b1$&@!" Over and over, he yelled as he chased me, so I screamed for help, and once I reached the house, I banged on the door, etc. He stopped his car about 20 feet away, and just kept yelling that he was going to get me. It scared the absolute shit out of me. If I had not had that gut feeling to drop and run at the corner, who knows, but It has served as a reminder, to always, always follow my gut.

It seems to work best when danger is threatening . . . Great story!!!

In an intuitive flash, he realized that the molecular structure was characterized by a ring of carbon atoms. When I was 6 or 7 my great aunt and uncle were out at my grandparents place for Boxing Day supper. They lived three hours away from there. They were getting ready to leave so I was begging them to stay, I asked them everything from staying another hour to sleeping over ... I was a quite kid and never did anything like that, but they didn't stay and my great Aunt ended up passing away in a vehicle accident that night on their way home.... So intuition should be taken seriously, it could just save a life!

Nothing I could ever change! I woke up and asked my mom if any of my relatives were going to be flying, because as tacky as it is, I had a bad feeling something was going to happen... Anyway later in the news some guy had tried to hijack a plane with a gun. Another time, a week or so after the Japan quake in 11 I was at a friends place and we were being stupid so I spun their world globe and put my finger out and said there was going to be a big quake there too. My finger was on turkey, but yeah I went to school that Monday and my friend came up to me and her face was pale when she told me there had been a 6.0 quake in turkey! Probably a very big coincident but it makes you think! There are a couple other times I had strong premonition but I don't remember we'll enough to tell what happened properly!
