Meridon in Warwickshire in roughly 200 miles from any coast go check.....see you there OK !!! , you know its me cos I have a silver car and will be wearing my tin foil hat

200 miles!!!! You gotta be kidding. 200 miles south west of where you are stating puts you just north of Lands End in Cornwall. One of the previous UK posters got it right in the maximum distance away any point in the UK is from the coast.

You might make it through if you head for the hills though, I would say mountains, but our mountains are just very big hills in the main.

Time to head for the Peak District, Snowdonia National Park or Ben Nevis, or the Cairngorms or something Brit bitchez!

the 9.0 off Japan only went 6-7 miles inland. I'm sorry but 200 is just dooming it up for the sake of fear. it is extremely unrealistic to believe any tsunami could flood 200 miles inland...

here's a source for you naysayers

While the quake has affected much of Japan, with aftershocks themselves reaching 7.7 magnitude, damage from the tsunami has affected coastal areas, especially around Sendai where waves reached six miles inland, according to the Kyodo News agency.

yeah I dunno 200 is ridiculous... the entire states of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut would be underwater if OP expects 200+ miles to be flooded.

Not even the 9.0 from Japan went so far inland. I call BS but whatever, 5 stars for effort..

I just sincerely doubt anywhere near 200 miles is honestly a danger zone. maybe 50 miles from the coast and even that I'm hard pressed to believe
 Quoting: SteamrolledGobias

No, actually it would make sense...why is the "new capitol" going to be Denver? Why the stuff in the airport? Why are they using the empty mines in (IIRC) Missouri? Could be one huge tsunami...that could go a long ways inland.

Re: Cousin works for Raytheon and said things are starting to unravel.
I hope it will not happen but had this weird dream. We were in the backyard somewhere and suddenly there was this Asteroid, Meteor ? falling from the sky and it was huge kinda similar to the Russian one. As I see it falling everyone was stunned it fell behind the tree lines but very far away for miles and everybody started running as it made impact and was expecting for a huge blast wave. I dunno but my family members was there, started cowering behind the exterior house walls I was yelling to stay out of the window panels as soon as I said that this tremendous force of wind came it threw everybody and shard of glass were flying, tree branches were flying, was very dusty, houses were destroyed and there was a lot of fires and smoke it was very vivid. One family member had a broken leg others were missing and I was trying to locate everyone but started seeing water? surging everywhere.

You might be onto something! ...

Then again, I had a dream a giant puppy was eating an ice cream cone.
In new York. Oh no, you mean our dreams reinforce the role play stories on conspiracy boards, and this is just more evidence of a puppy ice cream doom?!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!! Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

the 3rd Prediction of Fatima said that duirng a concave for the election of a new Pope.. the Vatican would be hit by Fire and Brimstone.... sounds like it might me true

He said it's time to bug out if you live within 200 miles of a coast. The earth is going to be a shooting gallery in the coming weeks. He said impacts are coming from meteors and comet have and will destabilize the asteroid belt sending them our way. We will see many more events like the russian one.

He wanted me to let those who would listen to know. He said after the whole Russian debacle they, private and public agencies, began intently viewing the skies and found via space Tracking and Surveillance Systems many meteors heading this way. He said they have a high probability of impacting and the percentages have been increasing weekly.

Sorry for the bad news, I really don't know what I'm going to do? Prepare yourselves.

comets do not destablize the asteroid belt
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12215789

I'm no expert, so I'll ask you how you know this?

Perhaps a lil ole comet here, and then there, wouldn't affect the belt, but what if there were a swarm of them hitting the belt at once?

At any rate, a celestial body larger than a comet would, although, destablize the belt...(an analogy I used recently) like a cue ball hitting a rack.

Of course, such the celestial body would have to be cold and therefore barely observable or unobservable, otherwise many amatuer and pro astronomers would've seen it coming.

For various "soft" reasons (non-science based) I am of the opinion that this is what happened, that the asteriod belt was disturbed, and that we're seeing the leading edge of the scatter.

I realize that my opinion is argueable, but I'm not into doing that. While I know what I just wrote makes me appear to be a Nibirutard, PXer (whatever is the right name), I'm not right now, nor ever have been.

I'm just sharing an observation. I am not neccessarily of the opinion that such the celetial body will destroy the planet.

I thought Raytheon produced missles?

What's the correlation with them and comets?

What does the proximity of the coast have to do with missles or comets?

Splain plz
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23290196

I am guessing Raytheon has various space viewing/measuring devices and have been able to find this out.

GET SAVED: Thread: Are you SAVED from DAMNATION?

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." -- Galatians 5:14-26

Next Week's Asteroid Flyby Shows Earth is in 'Cosmic Shooting Gallery'

The people of Earth are not doing enough to protect their home planet from the threat of an asteroid impact, scientists said today (Feb. 5) as they track a space rock slated to make a close shave next week.

The asteroid due to pass exceptionally close to Earth on Feb. 15 — called 2012 DA14 — was discovered only last year by amateur astronomers with the help of a grant from a non-profit agency. While asteroid 2012 DA14 poses no risk of hitting Earth, there are likely hundreds of thousands more rocks like it out there, its discoverers said.

"We live in a cosmic shooting gallery and it's a reminder that we need to keep doing our work to find these things and to prevent the only preventable natural disaster, which is asteroid impact," said Bruce Betts, a planetary scientist at the Planetary Society, the non-profit space research and exploration organization that helped sponsor the discovery of asteroid 2012 DA14.
