The next change pisses off the illuminati. They want their 50s bop. All the lame bands out as pop.

NO, like MJ NIrvana is only cool after the fact. Thus the reason why people commit suicide, because nobody loves you when you're alive. Hello and DUH.

If re-hashing Blue Oyster Cult's "Godzilla" counts, then yes.

I was a big fan in the day but I don't see them as being any better or more influential than bands like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Pearl Jam... They were just one of a handful of bands that changed the 'rock' genre/scene.

Yes.

Nirvana is widely accepted as having pulled us out of hair rock.

Thank God.

Nirvana was about as relevant as Milli Vanilli. Cobain was over-rated, and his music SUCKED! Glad he did the world a favor and offed himself.

Come on give Cobain a little more respect than Milli vanilly. He had the American underground scene having fun.

Then he faded away....

He went back to his roots in his last album....

Not allot of people liked it so he shot him self so that we would stay famous.

Re: Did Nirvana change the musical directions of their time?
Nirvana is still one of the most influential bands of all time. They not only changed music, but they made Seattle a world-class city. They allowed an entire music genre (grunge) to become a global phenomenon. Nevermind was one of the biggest albums of all time, in any genre. It still holds up today.

We're still under it's influence. I saw a kid wearing a Nirvana shirt yesterday. It was good music. Still is.

A change on the Rock and Roll genre of music, yes...like, lol, a tree stump growing a new branch.

I've always, however - genre branch considered - preferred Alice in Chains...flower

Re: Did Nirvana change the musical directions of their time?
I think it was more the media exposure they received that changed musical direction at the time.

Like other posters have said, there were other good bands too from that era, Alice In Chains, included...Nirvana just happened to be the right thing at the right time that was picked up and forced out there upon the crowd. I remember when they first came on the radio, when "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was a new track...the stations in New York City were playing it over and over and over again...it sure sounded different, and was a very in-your-face song, but I think the media made them who they were. I think Kurt knew that too, and wasn't happy.

Just my two pennies. peace

I change the radio everytime they come on.. I was in high school when they were big and it brings me always back to bad times or thinking.. I think they are a psyop band.
