Remember that most bright things we see on there are crazy far away, PANSTARRS L4 (i think?) is near the sun and so reflects tons of light. It's close and bright so in comparison to the far away and bright things that are normally on the screen, it looks huge. The reality is the opposite; the small regulars are huge when compared to this comet. We should be able to glimpse it in the northern hemisphere now, as I understand it. Here's a recent picture:

Maybe that's not what this thing is, but I'm guessing so
